Koimoi

Hi Team,

I have reviewed your comments regarding the deletion of Koimoi's Misplaced Pages page (https://en.wikipedia.org/Koimoi) and would like to share my observations and findings.

From your comments, I understand that you were unable to find authoritative sources citing Koimoi, which is why there were concerns regarding the authenticity of their information. I did a little bit of digging on the web and found some information you might find interesting.

Here are a few of the major publishers that refer to Koimoi: * https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/bollywood/news/shah-rukh-khan-opens-up-on-dunki-says-it-will-be-a-big-journey-film-high-on-comedy-and-drama/articleshow/103658679.cms

Basis the above links, I believe a re-evaluation of the Koimoi Wiki page is in order. Please do let me know if the above sources suffice or if there are any other concerns.

Thanks!

@Tonton12: Hi, I took a look at all the sources above and none of them are about the website. They are drive-by mentions which simply cite it Koimoi for information. Please read the notability guideline for web-specific content to better understand what is required to warrant an article on Misplaced Pages. plicit 00:17, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Also planning to reach out to the other editors as well for their feedback. Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback. Trex32 (talk) 18:46, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

WestNet Wireless

Hi ! I am writing as a dedicated subscriber and supporter of WestNet Wireless to request the restoration of the company's Misplaced Pages page. The recent deletion of this page came at a crucial time when WestNet is engaging in significant negotiations with larger corporations and government entities. The timing of this deletion is quite suspicious, given the company's substantial contributions to the telecommunications industry. WestNet Wireless is of immense significance, particularly known for its collaboration with WiLAN, the inventors of Wi-Fi. This partnership was essential in deploying the first Wi-Fi networks, an achievement that is well-documented and rooted in the innovations of Hedy Lamarr. WestNet's contributions span various sectors, including telecommunications, healthcare, aerospace, and logistics, making it a vital entity in the technological landscape. As a cooperative community, we highly value WestNet's efforts, especially in areas like Bridgeland, where their impact has been profound. WestNet has been instrumental in deploying Wi-Fi networks and supporting community initiatives, showcasing their commitment to technological advancement and community development. Deleting the WestNet Wireless page undermines the recognition of these significant achievements and contributions. Therefore, we kindly request that the page be restored to reflect the true historical and technological importance of WestNet Wireless. Thank you for considering this request. We are eager to contribute further to the Misplaced Pages community and ensure that notable entities like WestNet Wireless are rightfully represented. Sincerely, Matt 66.150.164.95 (talk) 00:15, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

thanks for trying to help . i m not sure why it was deleted either. :( 50.99.36.71 (talk) 18:40, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Pages created by a sock

Can you delete the pages created by Banned user @Kemilliogolgi who is a sock of banned user @AdityaNakul The sources used in these pages do not pass WP:FAKE

Pages created by the sock account

Hashid Khan (talk) 06:35, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

@Hashid Khan: These pages were all created before the sockmaster was blocked. WP:CSD#G5 only applies to pages created after their block, in violation of the original block. I have declined the deletion of the page that was tagged as such. plicit 06:51, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

Deletion of "noel r thomas"

Hello, Little bit new to this and was surprised to see my page deleted (Noel R Thomas). Just wondered what the issue was as I'm happy to edit my page so it passes the wiki criteria. Regards Noel Noel R Thomas (talk) 14:17, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

Draft:Junaid Khan (Pakistani actor)

Hello Explicit - I'm still trying to comprehend what went wrong here. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 13:39, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

@Saqib: Hi, it took me a minute to figure out what transpired as well. Basically, 2409:4050:2DB8:63D5:7C2B:8C48:5F7E:EDF5 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) performed a cut-and-paste move by copying the content of Junaid Khan (actor) over to Junaid Khan (Pakistani actor), and the IP redirected the former into the latter. You moved the latter into draftspace and tagged the resulting redirect for speedy deletion in accordance with WP:CSD#R2. I deleted it as such, unbeknownst to me that the newly formed redirect Junaid Khan (actor) made by the IP went with it. I inspected it and noticed over 400 deleted revisions, which is not typical for a redirect. After putting the pieces together, I reverted the edits on Junaid Khan (actor) to restore the article content and on Junaid Khan (Pakistani actor) to restore the redirect, then moved the redirect history back into mainspace. Hopefully, it's a lot easier to understand this than it was to explain it. plicit 14:10, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
OK, and do you know the reason behind why IP did this? — Saqib (talk I contribs) 14:20, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
@Saqib: Their edit summary states it was to "avoid confusion with Indian actor". plicit 14:28, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

Reducing protection on disco-pop

Hi. I've created a small description about the genre here, as it's being mentioned quite often in the articles: and it keeps reappearing as a genre in the infoboxes (eg. Please Please Please (Sabrina Carpenter song)). What do you think of reducing the protection on Disco-pop so I could make a redirect to this section? Solidest (talk) 21:46, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

@Solidest: Hi, I have unprotected the title. plicit 03:38, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

Errors in deleting orphaned fair use files

Yesterday, I went through all the files in Category:Orphaned non-free use Misplaced Pages files as of 21 June 2024, to see if any were worth saving and ran out of time. I was going to come back to them today, when I noticed that several of them were already deleted. I believe you made some errors in your deletion of orphaned fair use files yesterday. File:Ogo Bodhu Shundori.jpg was in use in Ogo Bodhu Shundori at the time of its deletion, here is where the file was added back six hours before its deletion, and here is where ImageRemovalBot removed the file after you deleted it, . Several other files were deleted with being tagged for less than seven days. All of these files were tagged on the June 21 and were in Category:Orphaned non-free use Misplaced Pages files as of 21 June 2024 and were deleted after June 26 instead of June 28: File:Bagh Bondi Khela poster.jpg, File:FelixLeiterCoverArt.jpg, File:Vanathai Pola serial.jpg and File:You Walk Alone.jpg. If you could revert all of these deletions, I will add them back to their respective articles. Thank you, Aspects (talk) 22:55, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

@Aspects:  Done, files restored. Not sure what happened here or what's going on with the articles. This in particular looks like undetected vandalism. plicit 23:51, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
