Municipality of Tehran is the city runner for Iranian capital city alongside Islamic City Council of Tehran. There are 22 districts managed by regional municipals. The city has 67 thousand administrative employees. The municipality owns Hamshahri.

In 2024 June the city imported 1000 Chinese electric cars as Taxis, they cost 50% more.
