The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Ukrainian forces attacked with 300 soldiers, 11 tanks, and 20 armored vehicles, of which Russia claimed that six tanks and ten armored vehicles were lost in the engagement. Additionally, Russia claimed that the attack was repelled. However, conflicting reports said that the Ukrainian convoy had reached the village of Zelyonyi Shlyakh [ru], 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from the border with Kursk Oblast.
