This user account is a bot operated by Hagerman.

This is not a human editor. It's a program that analyzes Misplaced Pages edits for unsigned comments.

  • If you are here to reply to comments left on a talk page, they were not left by the bot. The bot added a signature because the posting user forgot to sign. Please follow the link in the signature on the comment to the other user's talk page.
  • If you are here because you'd like to comment on the functionality of the bot, please contact Hagerman.
  • If you do not want the bot to sign your unsigned comments, please follow the instructions at opting out.

Please do not add comments to this page.

Please leave comments at User talk:Hagerman.

HagermanBot Compromises Editorial Autonomy

HagermanBot sucks for all the reasons mentioned already...

The bot is intrusive and compromises editorial autonomy. Mistakes are made while editing on Misplaced Pages. Logic errors, typos, spelling, grammar, proper citations and neglecting to sign comments on talk pages. I am all about collaborating and having my shoddy work corrected by fellow editors, and I do not need a mother looking over my shoulder while editing. I hope you can appreciate this comment because the HagermanBot sets a precedence that compromises editorial autonomy. Paradoxos 00:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

I do appreciate your work developing the bot. Opt-in is better than Opt-out - I opted out. Paradoxos 01:07, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

but robots love comments, too. How else will they achieve sentience? :) Arcayne 13:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

about this bot

This bot operates a bit fast. I forget to sign, but deside remenber a second later, it already signed. It would be easier for wikipedia if it could operate slightly slower, like if it auto signed after a minute if you forgot to sign.--Sefringle 19:57, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Opt-out ... it's the way to go. :) The Behnam 19:26, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Sevringle's comment. How about giving a reasonable time (15 minutes or so) for people to notice they didn't sign. --SteveMcCluskey 16:31, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Extremely Unencyclopedic Content

I don't care if this is a bot, and if it is an obvious joke, but it seems to me that if I had on my userpage the idea that I was responsible for some part of a historic document that was written more than a century and a half before I was born it would be inappropriate, and in contravention of userpage guidelnes. Just a thought Jethro 82 23:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

It's completely okay to put stuff like that on any user page, not just a bot's page. (unsigned for a reason. :-) ) — Alex 03:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Came back and signed it, bot didn't catch me. — Alex 03:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see why. — Alex 03:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

please do not spam my user page

Dear robot, please do not spam my user page, I will treat any further spam or addendums to my messages as vandalism. Thank you.

Thank you for the warning.

Thank you for warning me about not signing the message about In Case of Emergency. If I hadn't signed it at the last minute, I don't know what would've happened. AdamDeanHall 20:37, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Fall Out Boy

I know, its absolutely horrible that I didn't sign my comment on the FOB talk page, it could have, like destroyed the damn universe. You're just in denial abou how bad your favorite band is. But seriously, have you ever heard him sing live? If not, you need to. My 17 year old pitbull could do better, and he's tone deaf!

OK twice...

Twice this eve, this Bot has cut off my signature, just to "correct" my unsigned post. WTF, eh? Let me sign the thing myself, and give me time to save it before rushing in and posting that I forgot to sign a post. ESPECIALLY one where I was trying to reach out to a suspected vandal who suddenly appeared to have reverted his/her own vandalism. No help at all! You wanna sign this for me, or do I get a chance?
