Rein Lang (20 April 1974) is an Estonian politician, member of the Estonian Reform Party, and diplomat. He is currently serving as the Minister of Justice.
Born in Tallinn, Paet is a graduate from the University of Tartu with a degree in political science. Before his involvement in politics he was in the press in Estonia, serving in several editorial positions with Estonian Radio and with the newspaper AS Postimees.
In 1999 he joined the staff of the Estonian Reform Party as an advisor, and shortly after he won his elected position in the Tallinn City Government as the Head of Nõmme District Administration.
In 2003 he was elected to the Riigikogu, the Estonian Parliament, where he was appointed to the position of Minister of Culture under the Juhan Parts' government. Lang would serve in this position until February 21 2005 he was selected as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, a post he would only serve in for just over a month, due to the resignation of the government on March 24, 2005.
When the new government was announced by Andrus Ansip, Lang was nominated to the post of Minister of Justice, a position he officially took over when the government was conferred on 12 April 2005.
He has also served as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of Parliament.
