Lyudi Invalidy is the second Russian-language studio album by the Russian music duo, t.A.T.u.. It was released on October 19th, 2005. It was also released in other countries, such as Japan, Mexico and Poland. It is available to purchase and listen to on the Russian market. Lyudi Invalidy includes four Russian versions of the songs from its English counterpart, Dangerous and Moving, two songs in English, and completely new Russian songs not heard on Dangerous and Moving.

Differences from Dangerous and Moving

Lyudi Invalidy and Dangerous and Moving have eight tracks in common, either in the form of being the same track or being English/Russian-counterparts.

  • "Люди инвалиды" / "Dangerous and Moving" (49-second intro)
  • "All About Us"
  • "Loves Me Not"
  • "Обезьянка ноль" (an English version, "Null and Void", exists.)
  • "Космос" / "Cosmos (Outer Space)"
  • "Ничья" / "We Shout"
  • "Новая модель" / "Perfect Enemy"

Reception

Controversy

In November 2006, a lawsuit was filed against t.A.T.u. over the album and song (both titled “Lyudi Invalidy”) which literally translates to “Disabled People”. Leonid Vakuev, a human rights representative for the Komi Republic, interpreted the song as being directed towards disabled people and cited words written in the booklet for the album, which said: " do not know what it means to be a human being. They are fakes inside the human form. They do not live, but — function". Katina said, "Of course, we meant moral invalids, people who do not have a soul and human feelings." When Katina was asked if they had anything against disabled people, she stated that she finds it offensive to refer to people by that term, and added, "We take pictures together and make sure they have priority seats ."
