David Levy, thanks for the kind reply. Indeed, when I opened the page on another browser the image rendered in the normal aspect ratio. So it was due to the old cache. I have self reverted myself to restore the cropped version in the infobox. regards . DBigXrayᗙ Happy Holidays!19:42, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
Muslim Brotherhood
The lead currently says, "a sympathizer and former member of the Muslim Brotherhood" which is misleading to what the RS attached to that statement report. For instance, the RS do not say Jamal "is a sympathizer" to Muslim Brotherhood, so I removed that from the lead. Also, the RS say that Khashoogi was a member of the brotherhood in the late 1970s while covering the Russia-Afghanistan war and then left the brotherhood sometime in the early 1990s . Since the membership he had with the MB ended almost 30 years before he was assassinated, I removed that because it has nothing to do with his assassination so I did not feel it belongs in the lead. If someone wants to put that in a subheading, then I suppose that could be a topic to discuss in this talk page.
I have pinged editors RandompointofviewSamf4uForest90 who appear to have worked on this page and wanted to get their feedback BetsyRMadison (talk) 20:00, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Tier 1 Group is a private firm that provides military training in and outside the United States. Louis Bremer, who sits on the board of directors for Tier 1 Group, is a Trump nominee for the post of assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict. Curiouschimp with this edit added a paragraph cited from a Democracy Now!article that reports on Bremer being questioned earlier this month by Senator Tim Kaine about alleged ties between Tier 1 Group and the team that assassinated Khashoggi. These allegations were made publicly by David Ignatius in a Washington Postcolumn in March 2019 claiming that the CIA had warned other agencies that Tier 1 Group may had trained some members of the team that assassinated Khashoggi.
I have undone the edit and started this discussion. My problem is this all seems to be rumor that slanders Tier 1 Group and Bremer with no government office officially accusing anyone. This seems un-encyclopedic and possibly a WP:BLP and WP:SCANDAL violation. Do not get me wrong; if these guys are running an assassin school, I would love to see them called on it. I just do not see sufficient evidence to consider it anymore then a rumor. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 23:17, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi Richard-of-Earth,
Sorry about the delay in response. Thank you for responding and explaining the situation. As you mentioned, I have found several references made by tier 1 media groups as well as a government website to support my edit on the page, concerning Louis Bremer of Tier 1 Group for training the assassins of Jamal Khashoggi. Hope this does justice to the edit and serves as a relevant resource. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Curiouschimp (talk • contribs) 12:06, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
Well, I like the location of it better as it is now in the Alleged perpetrators section rather than US intelligence reports as we only have rumors of such reports. I like the video of the interview as well. The only government report I see is from Kane's office. It is made clear that the Washington Post is doing the accusing, Kane is investigating and Bremer denies it all, so I will let it stand, but if it came to a !vote I would be neutral on keeping it.
