The 2024 Final Battle is an upcoming professional wrestling live streaming event produced by American promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). It will be the 23rd Final Battle event and is scheduled to take place on December 20, 2024, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York. The event will air exclusively on ROH's streaming service, Honor Club.

Production

Background

Final Battle is a professional wrestling event produced by Ring of Honor. First held in 2002, it is traditionally ROH's last show in the calendar year. It is widely regarded as Ring of Honor's premiere flagship event, similar to WWE's WrestleMania. On November 19, 2024, ROH announced that the 2024 Final Battle would be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on December 20, and would air exclusively on Honor Club. Once a yearly tradition, this will be the first Final Battle event to take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom since Final Battle 2018.

Storylines

The event will feature professional wrestling matches that involves different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portray villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Storylines will be produced on ROH's weekly series ROH Honor Club TV exclusively on their streaming service Honor Club, on television programs of sister promotion All Elite Wrestling including Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision, and via promotional videos on both the ROH and AEW YouTube channels.

Possible Matches

At Death Before Dishonor Queen Aminata took on Athena for the ROH Women's World Championship but was unsuccessful due to outside interference from Billie Starkz & Lexy Nair although Red Velvet came to her aid. Days after the pay-per-view Athena & Billie Starkz faces Queen Aminata & Red Velvet in a tag team match but Queen Aminata & Red Velvet were unsuccessful as Athena blinded Queen Aminata while Billie Starkz finished off Red Velvet and then pinned her. A week prior on an episode of Ring of Honor Abadon came down to the ring and surprise confronted Athena indicating that she might be gunning for ROH Women's title as well. On the August 31, 2024 episode of AEW Collision their was a Fatal Four Way Women's Match where Queen Aminata faced Hikaru Shida, Serena Deeb and Thunder Rosa to determine the #1 Contendership of the AEW TBS Championship during this match Queen Aminata was unsuccessful as she lost to Hikaru Shida as Shida hit Aminata with the SuperKick and then pinned her after, putting Aminata’s Contendership for the ROH Women's title at risk and potentially putting her (Hikaru Shida) back into the ROH Women's title picture. At ROH Supercard of Honor Hikaru Shida also faced Athena for the ROH Women's World title and also was unsuccessful therefore that win could also put Hikaru Shida back in the ROH Women's title picture. Indicating that this might be a Fatal 4 Way Match between Queen Aminata, Athena, Abadon & Hikaru Shida for the ROH Women's World Championship at the Pay-per-view. During the AEW TBS Title match Mercedes Mone was successful and defeated Hikaru Shida which could also put Mone in the ROH Women's World title picture as well potentially turning the match into a Fatal 5 Way Match for the ROH Women's World title. During the September 11, 2024 episode of AEW Queen Aminata had match against Mariah May to earn a shot at Mariah’s AEW Women's Championship if successful, during this match Aminata was not successful due to this loss Mariah May could possibly qualify for the ROH Women's World Championship turning this match into a 6 Way Match for the title. On the September 14, 2024 episode of AEW Collision Queen Aminata had a match against Robyn Renegade and was successful but after the match she was attacked by Serena Deeb. A week prior Aminata & Yuka Sakazaki had a tag team match against Mariah May & Serena Deeb but the match ended in a Disqualification as Mariah may hit Yuka with the AEW Women's World Championship and continued the assault. On the September 21, 2024 episode of AEW Wrestling Queen Aminata had a One-on-one match with Serena Deeb but was unsuccessful possibly putting Serena Deeb in the ROH Women's World Championship picture. Possibly making the match a 7-way match for the ROH Women's title. On the October 2, 2024 episode of AEW at AEW Dynamite 5th Anniversary Serena Deeb had a One-on-one match against Britt Baker but was unsuccessful, possibly adding Britt Baker to the match making it a 8-Way women's match for the title. On October 16, 2024 on AEW's Dynamite Queen Aminata faced Mercedes Mone for the TBS title but was not successful as Kamille was in Mone's corner & caused the distraction. A week after Queen Aminata faced Kamille with Mone in Kamille's corner but was not successful indicating that this might be a 9-way match for the title at the Pay-per-view. On October 30, 2024 Athena and Abadon faced in a Halloween Ring of Horror match for the ROH Women's World Championship during the match Athena was successful without outside interference knocking Abadon completely out of the ROH Women's World title picture once more turning the match into a 8-way. On the November 21, 2024th of AEW Dynamite Kris Statlander took on Hikaru Shida and was victorious possibly adding her to the match once more making it a 9-Way for the ROH Women's World title. After the match Kamile and Mercedes Mone came down to the ring and tried to attack but failed as Kamile's shoulder was injured as she was wearing a cast & Kris hit Mone with the Piledriver.

At Death Before Dishonor 2024 Atlantis Jr. retained the ROH World Television Championship in a Survival of the Fittest match against Brian Cage, Johnny TV, Lee Johnson, Lio Rush, and Shane Taylor. Weeks before Kyle Fletcher lost the TV title to Atlantis Jr. but never got his rematch for the title therefore he could want the TV title back due to him never getting a rematch against Atlantis Jr., therefore this match could be a One-on-one Match for the ROH TV Championship. On October 12, 2024 at AEW’s WrestleDream Zero Hour Brian Cage defeated Atlantis Jr. for the ROH TV title indicating that this might be a rematch for the title or a triple threat match for the title.

On August 17, 2024 The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) lost their ROH World Tag Team Championship’s to Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara on a episode of AEW Collision and The Undisputed Kingdom could want the ROH Tag Team Championship’s back in a rematch especially knowing that they don't take losses well. Months prior The Undisputed Era also won a 4-Way tag team match keeping their chins up in the ROH Tag Team division. Also The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) have been feuding with the ROH Tag Team Champions and called them out during that ROH taping.

At Death Before Dishonor 2024 Red Velvet defeated Billie Starkz to become the new ROH Women's World Television Championship holder. Days prior Billie Starkz defeated Red Velvet in a tag team match (Athena, Starkz partner & Queen Aminata, Red Velvet’s partner) as Starkz hit a finisher on Red Velvet and then pinned her. Indicating that Billie Starkz may want the ROH Women's World Television Championship back while being put back in the ROH Women's TV title #1 Contendership due to the victory. Also with Billie Starkz not keeping on her a game by losing the title could threaten her relationship with The Minions (Athena & Lexy Nair). On the September 12, 2024 episode of ROH Wrestling during a backstage interview Red Velvet was called out by Diamante saying that she is after the ROH Women's TV title indicating that the this might be a Triple Threat match for the title. On the October 10, 2024 episode of Ring of Honor Red Velvet took on Diamante for the ROH Women's TV title and was victorious after Diamante got Disqualified. On October 25, 2024 an interview was uploaded on Ring of Honor's YouTube Channel that Leyla Hirsch is after ROH gold saying that she was successful in the ROH Texas Death Match against Diamante indicating that this might be a Fatal-4-Way match for the ROH Women's TV title at the Pay-per-view. On the November 13 2024th tapings of Ring of Honor Red Velvet defeated Diamante via Disqualification in a Street Fight match for the ROH Women's TV title but since it was via DQ it still leaves Diamante in the ROH Women's TV title picture.

On the October 23, 2024th episode of AEW Dynamite Mark Briscoe lost his ROH World Championship to Chris Jericho, without a rematch this might indicate at the Pay-per-view that a match might be between the two for the ROH World title.
