- 1758 - Seven Years' War - (1) British capture Ile St. Jean, which is now known as Prince Edward Island, from the French. About 3,500 Acadians deported to France; about 2000 escape to Lower Canada or St Pierre et Miquelon. (2) British defeat French at Fort Anne.
