China Resources Recycling Group Co., Ltd. is the only central state-owned enterprise headquartered in Tianjin.
History
In the first half of 2024, preparations for the establishment of the China Resources Recycling Group began, with its headquarters planned to be located in Tianjin. The group's assets primarily consist of recycled resources businesses contributed by related central state-owned enterprises (SOEs). Personnel from these SOEs joined the preparatory team. For instance, scrap steel operations from China Baowu Steel Group, plastic recycling from China Petrochemical Corporation, and recycled aluminum and copper businesses from Aluminum Corporation of China are expected to be integrated into the group.
On July 5, 2024, a State Council executive meeting discussed policy measures to support high-quality development in Tianjin's Binhai New Area.
On September 22, 2024, China Resources Recycling Group Co., Ltd. was officially registered in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area Market Supervision Administration, categorized under the comprehensive utilization of waste resources industry. The next day, during a special press conference by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Deputy Director Zhao Chenxin announced support for the establishment of the group as a national, functional resource recycling platform.
On October 18, 2024, China Resources Recycling Group held its founding ceremony.Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing attended the event, conveying instructions and comments from Xi Jinping and Li Qiang.
In October 2024, China Resources Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Resources Group, and Ouyeel Recycling Resources Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group, were merged into China Resources Recycling Group.
On November 19, 2024, the National Development and Reform Commission announced plans to guide China Resources Recycling Group in establishing a national, functional resource recycling platform.
On December 5, 2024, China Resources Recycling Group’s subsidiary, China Resources Environmental Technology, invested ¥3 billion in Yantian District, Shenzhen, to establish the China Resources Recycling New Energy Recycling Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.
