2024 Kobani offensive2024 Kobani clashes – It does not appear like their is an "offensive" yet more like clashes and air strikes so i propose a name change Braganza (talk) 19:37, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

@Noble Attempt, Des Vallee, and Ecrusized: Braganza (talk) 20:04, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
Agree: The current battle situation seems to mostly be focused on heavy artillery, drone strikes, and some attempted ground operations on the Tishrin Dam and other bridges along the Euphrates which have not produced any results. I can move the article now if consensus is reached and move it back if the situation changes, especially if the reported amassing of Turkish troops along the border with Kobani develops further. Thank you for bringing this up! Noble Attempt (talk) 20:25, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
I haven't edited that article before, but I'm in favor of removing it since there doesn't seem to be an offensive in Kobani region. Ecrusized (talk) 00:02, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Personally, I would suggest a merge into “Operation Dawn of Freedom” since both conflicts seem to be related. Also, there’s a similar discussion on the other talk page. So based on that I say merge. 2600:1702:5870:5930:5C77:9C6A:2E8E:CF1D (talk) 00:12, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
i kinda agree but i am not sure, an actual offensive appears likely so and the main "Operation Dawn of Freedom" campaign pretty much stopped by now. So i think it should stay Braganza (talk) 12:38, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Casualties

@David O. Johnson: @88.243.192.169: @RopeTricks:

88.243.192.169, you are again adding false information after previously being reverted, this source is describing SDF casualties for all of December, not December 20, also the new casualty number doesn't even make any sense, how earth did you get 42 from 11+6+5+21, which again mention casualties from December through the entire fighting not from December 20.

Since the beginning of December, SOHR documented the death of 54 people, including civilians, and the injury of 16 others, including eight individuals in 26 attacks executed by Turkish drones. The Syrian Observatory has documented the death of 54 civilians and combatants and the injury of 16 others in 26 airstrikes by Turkish drones on SDF-controlled areas in December. not December 20, it's the overall amount of dead, not the dead of one day. Des Vallee (talk) 06:38, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

I don't really have anything more to add. I was about to revert the IP with the same explanation that the casualties in that ref are for all of December. David O. Johnson (talk) 06:41, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
@David O. Johnson: You can still do a revert without breaking 1RR, because the first revert was on technical grounds (citations and some text were broken), while 1RR only applies to content. So I would recommend reverting, if you believe the content is incorrect. Des Vallee (talk) 06:45, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
I manually removed the incorrect info, but left the discuss tag in place. David O. Johnson (talk) 06:49, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

SDF victory

Based on what? Article looks like WP:OR. Also no victory at all for both sides. What gained SDF to be victorious? Beshogur (talk) 14:34, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

@Beshogur: because SDF successfully repelled any attacks on both crossings and started as offensive on the western side of the Euphrates Braganza (talk) 15:43, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
Is there a real offensive? So you claim SNA clashed with YPG in Kobani? If not, then it's not Kobani clashes. Beshogur (talk) 15:58, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
