Santosh Shukla (born 2nd July 1982) is an Indian actor known for his work in both television and films. His journey from modeling to acting on the small and big screen has been marked by determination and passion. Santosh Shukla is from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a model in 1996, quickly gaining attention from ABCL (Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd.), which offered him a role in a feature film. Although the project never materialized, Santosh chose to stay in Mumbai, believing that everything happens for a reason and that Mumbai was his destined place. He soon met television producer Ekta Kapoor, who cast him in the popular show "Mano Ya Na Mano", which marked the beginning of his acting career. Following this, Santosh secured lead roles in several TV shows, including "Kahani Chandrakanta Ki", "Om Namah Shivay", "Jap Tap Vrat", and "Koi Sapno Ke Deep Jalaye", becoming a well-known name in Indian television. While his success on TV grew, Santosh's ambition to work in films intensified. He began pursuing opportunities in Bollywood, despite the challenges of transitioning from TV to film. Santosh’s breakthrough came in 2012 when he got the oppertunity to enter in Big Boss (Season 6), the popular reality TV show hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. His presence on the show was well-received by audiences, and Salman Khan, impressed by his potential, offered him the role of the main antagonist in Jai Ho (2014) which was directed by Sohail Khan. Although the film didn't perform well at the box office, it was a significant step in his film career. After Jai Ho, Santosh worked in a Suniel Shetty starrar Desi Kattey (2014) directed by Anand Kumar. In 2019, Salman Khan cast him in the third installment of the hit Dabangg series, Dabangg 3 which was directed by Prabhu Deva, where he played the role of Bali Singh. This marked his return to the big screen in a key role. Santosh's career continued to grow when he was offered the role of SP Suryakant Mishra in the 2022 film Bachchan Pandey, starring Akshay Kumar which was made under the production of Sajid Nadiadwala and was directed by Farhad Samji . His portrayal of a main character in this commercial film further established his place in the industry. Currently, Santosh is working on two exciting projects: Bhakshan 1.0 and Gulabi Revdi, both of which are in production. In addition to his work in television and film, Santosh Shukla has become an inspiration to many aspiring actors, particularly those without a "godfather" in Bollywood. His journey, driven by resilience and a strong pursuit of his dreams, serves as a role model for many who wish to build a career in the competitive world of entertainment. Santosh Shukla is very concerned about his mother, who lives in Lucknow. He is unmarried and enjoys a close knit family life. His family includes his elder brother Ashutosh Shukla, his brother's wife, and his nephew. Despite his busy career, Santosh remains strongly connected to his roots and family, with his mother playing a significant role in his life.
