With the departure of Jack O'Neill, General Hank Landry takes command, Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell joins the team as their new leader. A new enemy appears, whose powers rivals that of the Ancients.
After the Ori emerge through the Supergate, SG-1 now must deal with the impossible task of expelling the Ori ships, discover the Sangraal, destroy the Ori, and save the day for the last time. This is the last season of the show's ten year run, and the last year it will air alongside its sister series Stargate Atlantis.
