Divine Intervention (Arabic yadun ilahi يد إلهي) is the name of a 2003 film by the Israeli Palestinian director Elia Suleiman, which may be described as a surreal black comedy. The film consists largely of a series of brief sketches, but for the most part records a day in the life of a Palestinian living in Jerusalem, whose girlfriend lives across the border of the West Bank in Ramallah.
Its best-known scenes are the rather surreal sections featuring a beautiful sunglasses-wearing Palestinian woman (played by Manal Khader) whose passing by not only distracts all eyes, but causes Israeli guard towers to crumble.
