He currently hosts a mid-morning current affairs show ("The Jon Gaunt Show") on talkSPORT. A show he previously presented was awarded three Sony Radio Academy Gold Awards in 2001 which he mentions frequently during his current show six years later.

Gaunt has dealt with controversy during his career; he has faced the UK Broadcasting Standards Commission five times which led to speculation that one of his listners had complained twice; three of the complaints made against him were upheld.
