The Holocaust Industry is a book by Norman G. Finkelstein in which he contends that some leaders of the Jewish community have inappropriately used the Holocaust as a tool to scare Jews into thinking that there is more anti-Semitism now than there really is, in order to raise money and to support Israel.
He believes that many American Jews are not following Judaism as a way of life, and have replaced Judaism with mere fear about anti-Semitism and fund-raising for Jewish causes. His book has been sharply criticised by other scholars as being reactionary and exaggerated.
