Ego death is an experience sometimes undergone by psychonauts. It can be brought on by the ingestion of psychedelics such as Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), Magic Mushrooms, Mescaline, or LSD; though some religious practices claim to do the same.

It is characterised by the perceived loss of boundaries between self and environment.
