Carl Lumbly (born August 14, 1952) is a Jamaican-American actor who was born in Jamaica. At one time he was a journalist in Minnesota, when he got an acting job while on assignment for a story about a workshop theatre and stayed with the improvisational company for two years. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has worked in American movies and television series. He can currently be seen in the American television series Alias.
