Carl Lumbly (born August 14, 1952) is a Jamaican-American actor who was born in Jamaica. At one time he was a journalist in Minnesota, when he got an acting job while on assignment for a story about a workshop theatre and stayed with the improvisational company for two years. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has worked in American movies & television series including the voice of the Martian Manhunter J'onn J'onzz in the Justice League animated series. He can currently be seen in the American television series Alias.
