The Legend of Zelda is the tentative title for the next video game in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series. Because of the year of release, fans and gaming sites alike have dubbed it "Zelda 2005".
The game will feature graphics even more realistic than those found in Ocarina of Time instead of the cartoon look of The Wind Waker and Four Swords Adventures, although it will still makes use of the cel-shading lighting effect from The Wind Waker, and in fact runs on a heavily modified The Wind Waker engine. In a further departure from The Wind Waker, Link is once more in his "adult" form, similar to the second half of Ocarina of Time. Link will also ride and fight on horseback. The release date is expected to be during Q4 2005.

In recent interviews with Eiji Aonuma, the director, in Electronic Gaming Monthly and the spanish magazinge Hobby Consolas, he revealed that Princess Zelda and Ganondorf will return. Also returing is the popular fishing minigame from Ocarina of Time. Aonuma has also stated that the game will be much larger in size than Ocarina of Time. Aonuma stated that Link can communicate with animals, but did not elaborate on this. He also confirmed that voice acting will not be in the game.
Rumors
It is believed by some fans that the plot will be along the lines of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. This idea originated with the fact that there is a very prominent moon in the background of the screen at the end of the second trailer for this game. A wolf, or perhaps a Wolfos, takes a stereotypical werewolf stance and howls at it. Whether or not this is true is unknown and yet to be seen.
