There are nine national parks in Slovakia (besides many other kinds of natural protection areas and reserves):
- Greater Fatra National Park in the Greater Fatra (Veľká Fatra) mountains
- Lesser Fatra National Park in the Lesser Fatra (Malá Fatra) mountains
- Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry)
- Muránska planina (Muráň Plain or Plateau)
- Pieniny National Park (Pieninský národný park) in the Pieniny mountains
- Poloniny
- Slovak Karst (Slovenský kras)
- Slovak Paradise National Park (Slovenský raj)
- Tatra National Park (Tatranský národný park)
