While General Grand is by far the largest, there are many other Order of the Eastern Star groups. Australia, Scotland, New York and New Jersy maintain jurisdictions independent of General Grand Chapter. There are also predominately African-American jurisdictions affiliated with various Prince Hall Grand Lodges, and with Universal Grand Lodges. The number of Officers in these chapters is often different from those of General Grand, and they use a different ritual book. Get Real

A symbol is what you make it. God is not going to look down at these women and say "SATANISTS!" when he sees them praying.

I've been an eastern star for 2 years now. Every woman I've met are devoted christians. This is one of my reasons for becoming a star. We serve our communities, we feed and help the needy. Raise money for students to go to college and many other wonderful things. Sorry your experience was not fruitful but don't call us satanist.

Also, the upside-down star was not used by Satanist at all until the 20th century. Eastern STar has been around longer.--Bedford 17:36, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

The goal amongst them all is the same, however, to promote the well being of its members, and to perform charitable work.
