- Principality of Estonia (Estland) was a short-lived principality in 1561-1578.
- Swedish Estonia was a dominion of Sweden in 1578-1721 in what is now northern Estonia.
- Reval Governorate was a guberniya of Russian Empire formed in what had previously been Swedish Estonia, and was later known as Governorate of Estonia in 1796-1918.
