The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) is an American organization that "has worked to advance teaching, research, and student achievement in English language arts at all scholastic levels" since 1911.
The NCTE Committee on Public Doublespeak analyzes the euphemistic form of public speech known as doublespeak and awards an annual NCTE George Orwell Award for Distinguished Contribution to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language.
