High Speed Two or High Speed 2 (HS2) is a proposed railway line in the United Kingdom. It is to run be built and run between St Pancras railway station in London and Birmingham. Although the terminus has not yet been decided in Birmingham, it is possible the line could use the former platforms at Birmingham Moor Street railway station , turning it into its former glory as a city terminus. There are also possibilities for branches off this line including a 5 mile tunnel to serve Heathrow Airport, as well as others onto the4 Trent Valley Line to link up with the current West Coast Main Line. There are also possibilities of extending services all the way to Manchester or even further. Finally, this line could compete with European airlines, making them obselete . It is to be a possible extension of the current Eurostar services, as well as to have double-deck trains between London and Birmingham.
