Vlad, | |||
Biophys appears to have taken-over SVR page. He eliminated a lot of legal stuff by, in essence, stating that the Russian Federation's Constitution can not be cited, the SVR organizational chart on their web-site he stated "we're not interested in", misreferences quotes from U.S. Director of National Intelligence, cites an incomplete article as a link from Jane's Information Group that's only completely available if you're a subscriber to Jane's Intelligence Review. He's turned it into a sort of John LeCarre style spy fantasy thing rather than objectively stating here's the SVR, here's why it's established, here's its earlier command structure-here's its current structure, etc. What he's done is taken a bunch of textual sources, cherry-picked the information to fit his view of things, claimed that only things in a book or newspaper/periodical can be used as sources concerning SVR. Because of the pace with which he has revised (and even revised on top of his own revisions) nobody else has been able to get in there and the article has now been "locked up". | |||
Vlad, what's your take on all this? I think Biophys gets preferential treatment by the wiki people. The question is why is he more special than everyone else? I think it's because he's into the human rights gig and a liberal and my experience is that liberals tend to hang with other liberals. They can be really, really intolerant of anybody who doesn't agree with their worldview. Biophys appears to get away with things because they relate to him. He made his reputation doing the boring scientific stuff and he's achieved his apex of power and can do no wrong in the minds of many. I'm not tring to insult anyone, I think that's where it is. |
