Aligarh is not a Muslim Dominated city..... also it was a communal riots, in which there were casualities from both the communities......—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.228.229.74 (talkcontribs).

Can you cite any proof for your allegations?Bakaman Bakatalk 02:41, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

The suprising thing is that the temple was built on a land donated by a Muslim and was built by Muslims. It has writings in Urdu inscribed on it. The temple has lonmgs stood as a mark of strong bond between the Muslims and Hindus in Aligarh. Although the riots were isolated soon but the atmosphere in the Aligarh Muslim University were a bit tense as many of the students who belonged to the Hindu community felt uneasy atttending classes but the University responded immediately to this concern and beefed up the security around and inside the university by deploying the Rapid Action Force and the police. The students of the University organised camps to provide essential materials to the victims of the riots Hindus and Muslims alike. All examinations in the University were postponed and the Entrance test to Class XI and Diploma Engineering was also postponed.
