Sysops basically can't do anything. Eloquence 17 Jun 2003 -- Commiserations. jimfbleak -- Yours seems to have vanished. Koyaanis Qatsi -- You've hit the rare but deadly Simultaneous Edit Bug. :( Brion -- Don't let it go to waste...a migraine headache. Pizza Puzzle -- Beautiful. One should not argue with a fool, or people wont be able to tell the difference. sv -- Make whiners sysops, and soon the whole project goes right to hell. 142.177 -- Someday work cordially on an article if our pursuits on Wiki ever coincide. 172 -- Give a tantrum child responsibility, and that child will grow into its new role. sv -- I will say it to his face when I work up the courage. sv -- Otherwise you would, by emperical evidence, have to be on speed to keep this up. sv -- I thought that the summary of my comments was a parody. 172 -- It's nice to see that you are using the flower I gave you. MB -- I'm not trying to change your mind here... MB -- Could you try and help Nostrum out? His major mistake was messing with the wrong crowd. MB -- Interlanguage links don't have a "correct" place. MB -- Signing other people's comments is entirely reasonable Martin -- yup, that is ok to me :-) anthere -- Thank you for the fix and the welcome! FearÉIREANN -- Hello... this is really not the place to have this argument. Angela. -- I am proud to be in the last 11. Anthere -- its 8:15 am in London? Ah. listen to the body though. Evil saltine -- lol er... thanks :p Evil saltine.

Thanks & verifiability

Thanks for the welcome message and the link to the verifiability page. I had actually already started trying to contact someone who might be able to verify the information. Rhsatrhs 03:43, 10 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Undeletions

Good morning Angela! Thanks for the deletion. Actually i was not aware that pages could be undeleted. But these ones are dead for good: their contents is now in the brand new Ancient Rome directory. I had real fun constructing it! Cheers, Muriel Gottrop 08:28, 10 Sep 2003 (UTC) PS - Great user page you have!

Engelsism

Good move on the creation of move of Engelsism to the /delete page. I think using this form of page is a very good idea (and not just because I suggested it!!!) I've created a page linked to the VfD page where we can archive such debates after they have concluded. FearÉIREANN 23:34, 10 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Copyvio notice on deleted page

sorry. I'm an idiot... could you delete ACIM again? I'm a moron and put a notice thingy up without knowing you had already deleted it... Evil saltine 01:22, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

lol er... thanks :p Evil saltine 01:32, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Still up eh? :-)

Zaijian.

Reversions

Thanks for providing info about these. However the suggested method doesn't seem to work in current Misplaced Pages. If you are a sysop you might have a tool for this, but for the rest of us it seems that only editing the current page works, so more work is required to do fixing. Pity! -- David Martland 13:23, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

OK - thanks for your message - so it's very important not to click on cur or last. That makes more sense. I think I should be able to do it now. Thanks. -- David Martland 17:39, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

talk page control

(re user talk:RickK) Martin, please stop trying to wind him up. You don't do that to Eloquence who also does not link to the archives of his talk page when he deletes them. You can click on page history to see what has been removed so I can't understand your reasoning behind trying to enforce RickK, BuddhaInside, or anyone else to keep stuff they don't want on their talk page. Angela

Eloquence indicates that content has been deleted, which is all I really desire - given that indication, one can always click on page history. Given Jiang's views, I felt the blanking was inappropriate. However, I'll give way. Martin 13:48, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Thanks for the referral. I took care of it. Cyan 16:12, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I like your talk page summarization technique so much, I think I'll steal it. -- Cyan 20:34, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Apparently that's what happens when you're trying to move a page and IE gives you a "Page Not Found" and you hit reload. I'll go tell Brion. -- Cyan 22:09, 11 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Please don't mind the foul comment made to you by that copyright violator. I read it, and his reply made no sense whatsoever as a response to your polite suggestion and request. True Wikipedians appreciate a lady like you here. He obviously doesn't know how to work collaboratively here with the necessary (and should-be-welcomed) feedbacks and advices. That's a skill he apparently doesn't need or unfortunately hasn't acquired in his workplace and/or school. --Menchi 00:35, 12 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Thank you for clearing up my confusion. It just seems like, lately, no matter what I do, it's wrong. RickK 01:17, 12 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome!

Took a bit of hunting around to figure out the talk pages. The help link you supplied in the welcome page, uh, helped.

In any case, thanks for the warm welcome.

Misplaced Pages is a fascinating project, something we were all projecting back in the heady early days of the net. Amazing what you've all accomplished in just a couple of years. Kudos all around.

So far I have to admit to being just a tad selfish with the edits, primarily adding external links to appropriate pages on my own website. But I've been making a mental note of the red links and will eventually come back and work on any I can help out with, probably beginning with the Australian outback.
