I thought part of the page sounded a little fishy, so I went back through and noticed that the entire article was essentially copied and pasted from Sacred Heart's website. I'm sorry if my mass revert upsets some people, and I certainly won't be offended if it's overridden, but it's the most recent edit I could find before the copyright violation was added again. If someone does re-revert the page, all I ask is that you please add the logo in somewhere appropriate so as not to have Betacommandbot yell at me about an orphaned image. Thanks. --] 04:39, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I'm taking out the part about Sacred Heart Hospital and "Scrubs". COMPLETELY different Sacred Heart. Even the original (according to imdb.com Christa Miller Biography), it's the Convent of the SH, not SHU. I always wondered why it was here. Azure Haights 06:12, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)

Ok, then re-write it...all that needs to be done is to clean up some of the wording and create a more detatched, third person view...not delete it!

Copyvio?

At least part of this was taken (almost) verbatim from Sacred Heart's website, for instance:

Our longtime commitment to “anytime, anywhere learning” has made SHU a technology leader among college and universities nationwide. It began with the revolutionary 1995 debut of our Mobile Computing Program – providing every freshman with a state-of-the-art laptop and key software programs.

Compare to:

Sacred Heart’s longtime commitment to “anytime, anywhere learning” has made it a technology leader among colleges and universities nationwide. It began with the revolutionary 1995 debut of the Mobile Computing Program – providing every freshman with a state-of-the-art laptop and key software programs.

This should probably be cleared up. – TTD Mocha! Bark! (pawprints) 07:28, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Regardless of copyvio, this article reads like a sales pamphlet, not an encyclopedia article. It really needs a ground-up rewrite. JFMorse 18:28, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Writing and editing this page

This message was just left on my talk page. Since it addresses a things that relate to this page, I think it's best to share it and answer it here:

hello norton... i dunno how to contact you any other way so this is what im gonna do... STOP touching the Sacred Heart University website.... I work for Sacred Heart and the School is the one who typed out the orginal information. so please stop saying there are copy right laws being broken because they can not be broken if Sacred Heart is the one typing... I am so sick of having to go in every so often and fix what people like you put up there and supposedly "fix"... STOP TOUCHING OUR WEBSITE!!!!!!!

Response: First, thanks for sending me the message, and thanks for editing and caring about this page. We always need that at Misplaced Pages, and I hope you'll edit more pages. And you did the right thing by leaving a message on my talk page, although in the future, messages should go to the bottom of it, since that's where I and most people look for them.

I can understand that you're angry -- it comes from caring about the article. Please understand that my edits are only to improve the article. I think if you look at Misplaced Pages rules and style guidelines, starting with WP:STYLE, you'll come to agree with me that the consensus and the rules call for changes here.

Misplaced Pages can't use copyrighted material without direct authorization from the owner, and, frankly, copying text from elsewhere isn't what Misplaced Pages is all about and there is a rule against it. I'd be happy to take the time to look up the rule on that for you, if you'd like. Also, please review WP:OWN. Essentially it says everyone hs the right to edit pages on Misplaced Pages, as long as they follow the rules.

Please look over the pages I've linked to here and review Misplaced Pages rules. The way the page looks now, you will inevitably have other editors come in and do just about what I did and more. It will never end, because too many Misplaced Pages editors like me want pages that conform to the rules and the style. On the other hand, you care for this article more than I do and probably more than just about anyone else, so your interest in it and willingness to work on it are extremely valuable. So please think it over and feel free to ask me any questions you have. If we fight, you can't win and I don't want to fight, but I want good articles. Take a look at some other college and university articles. You might find you like them more than this one. Noroton 22:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

John Roberts

Can anyone provide a source to verify that John Roberts attended SHU? I had never heard this and nobody from the university could verify it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.79.173.255 (talk) 22:02, 15 May 2007 (UTC).
