St George's Hospital Medical School is a college of the University of London. It is based in Tooting in south London. The college was founded in 1733 and is co-located with St George's Healthcare NHS Trust. In early 2005, following some much heated debate, the institution's name was changed to St George's, University of London, mainly at the Principal's behest. It was argued that this change would allow greater recognition of the medical school within the University of London family of colleges.

Famous alumni include Edward Jenner, John Hunter and madcap comedian Harry Hill
