Richard Perry is one of the most successful producers in music history and over his 40 year career in music has produced albums that have resulted in album sales of over 500 million copies. He has worked such legendary artists as Harry Nilsson, The Beatles and Madonna and others including Tiny Tim, Barbra Streisand, The Pointer Sisters, Ringo Starr, and Carly Simon. Perry was the founder of Planet Records.

It was Perry's idea to do the Great American Songbook with Rod Stewart and thus created an entire new genre of American Music which has revitalized the music industry.

He has successfully used that genre again with Carly Simon, and Art Garfunkel.

Perry and Simon relationship goes back to the Perry produced "No Secrets" which featured the legendary song "You're So Vain". In 2004 the Perry/Simon standards collaboration "Moonlight Serenade" was released and, with that, Perry gave Simon her first #1 album in 27 years.

His universally praised Art Garfunkel standards album is set for re-release in late 2007, having not been properly marketed due to Garfunkle scheduling problems and poor label support.

Perry has had albums in the top ten every decade since the 1960's.

Perry has been married twice. Perry's second wife was actress Rebecca Broussard who, following their divorce, became the longtime girlfriend of Perry's close friend Jack Nicholson,she also is the mother of his children.

Perry has famously dated supermodel Beverly Johnson, Naomi Cambell, and Tina Turner. He is currently dating former model Cynthia Cruz.

He resides in Los Angeles.
