Fair use rationale: Low resolution image per the four fair use criteria in the US, and per WP:NFCC. No freely licensed equivalent is available. The image adds explanatory power to any and/or all articles concerning intelligent design, creation-evolution controversy, and directly related topics. The image does not threaten to replace the commercial value of the image to the copyright holder, but instead increases such value to the copyright holder. The use is minimal, and involves no internal content from the magazine itself, but rather illustrates the copyright holder's publicized presentation of the topic. Its presence significantly increases readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding. The image is for use only in article namespace.

This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Misplaced Pages's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Misplaced Pages's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Misplaced Pages should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Misplaced Pages's copyright policy.

In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail.

Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=28 December 2024}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle).Fair usetrue
CopyrightedThis image is of book cover(s), and the copyright for it is most likely owned either by the artist who created the cover(s) or the publisher of the book(s). It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of book covers

qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States. Any other uses of this image, on Misplaced Pages or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Misplaced Pages:Non-free content for more information.

AttentionTo the uploader:
  1. Please add a detailed non-free use rationale for each article the image is used in, which must also declare compliance with the other parts of the non-free content criteria, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
  2. For example non-free use rationales, see Misplaced Pages:Use rationale examples.
  3. This tag should only be used for book covers.
  4. Please include in your fair use rationale details of the particular edition (publisher, market & year of publication) of the edition you have used, and also acknowledge any cover artist if such artist is acknowledged in that edition's frontmatter. If the book cover is in the public domain (see Misplaced Pages:Public domain), then use the appropriate public domain tag rather than this one.
  5. Any of the following may be helpful for stating the rationale: Template:Book rationale, Template:Non-free use rationale book cover, or Template:Manga rationale.
To patrollers and administrators: If this image has an appropriate rationale please append |image has rationale=yes as a parameter to the license template.

Purpose of use

Identify the cover of Of Pandas and People and show its presentational style.

Replaceable?

Irreplaceable. It's a copyrighted cover; no free image is possible that is also correct for what the cover actually is. No art has been released into the public domain to my knowledge.
