This page has a backlog that requires the attention of willing editors.
Please remove this notice when the backlog is cleared.
Shortcut

This page documents vandalism in progress. Please report users engaging in vandalism at the top of the "Current alerts" list below. Please only use this page for repeated malicious vandalism, not for one-off edits, or newbie tests. If you discover newbie testing and feel like the user could use some help, please list them at Misplaced Pages:Clueless newbies. Except in cases of vandalbot or other rapid-fire attacks, please warn users and wait for further vandalism before listing them here. Do not list non-vandalism (see Cautions and alternatives below).

(report vandalism here) User:Ravinesh rds

Please list the IP address or user name, pages touched, and damage done. Sign your name using ~~~~ after your report. Put the person's IP or username in the edit summary.

User:Ravinesh rds is delting images and text from articles relating to the human body.

Cautions and alternatives
Please do not bite the newcomers by listing newbie tests as vandalism. Instead, assume good faith and list them at Misplaced Pages:Clueless newbies. If you suspect an edit may be vandalism but are unsure, list the edit on RC patrol. See NPOV dispute, Accuracy dispute and Requests for comment for content disputes. Page protection may be requested. Report three revert rule violations at WP:AN/3RR.
If you come across very recent vandalism where it seems that the perpetrator should be blocked immediately (and has already been warned), try listing your report on Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism.

Creating multiple nonsense pages requiring an admin to go behind him and cleanup. I left the standard warning on his talk page. Doesn't seem to have fazed him. --Xcali 04:10, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

    • Vandalising various pages, notably George W. Bush and Robert Byrd so far. Warned each time, now up to test4 with no end in sight.—chris.lawson (talk) 02:35, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
      • Check the time stamps, Bunky, you gave me two warnings for the same edit. (Restoring the "Disputed" tag to the Kleagle Byrd page isn't Vandalism either, Chief. It has been there for weeks and was unilaterally removed today.)
        • Your first edits on George W. Bush and Robert Byrd were unquestionably vandalism. Please cut it out. Rhobite 03:15, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)
          • So then we agree I only have two warnings then, correct? (Not sure what this Test4 nonsense means)
  • Let's agree that you won't vandalize any more pages. There is no set number of warnings before an admin is allowed to block you, and you aren't "allowed" a certain amount of vandalism. Rhobite 03:26, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)

    • Added misc. pictures not directly related to articles, . Erased vandalism warnings from talk page, , deleted material without a reason, -Willmcw 00:04, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)
My edits were legitimate. This is a content dispute. See his talk page. He calls everyone who with a different opinion a vandal. Also I did not add inappopriate pictures to articles. One was a train and I put a picture of a train. Another was a bicyclist and I added a picture of a bicycle. THAT IS NOT VANDALISM! Adding a picture of a penis to either would be vandalism. Screwing around with someone's talk page like you did mine was vandalism. Content disputes are not vandalism. Poetatoe 00:07, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
      • Misplaced Pages's official guidelines dictate that we assume good faith. This guideline also explicitly directs editors to do so when it can be reasonably inferred "that something is a well-intentioned error," enjoining then against simply labelling such incidents as vandalism, which Willmcw did on the Eric Foner article. Based upon his comment above and elsewhere, including his own talk page, it appears to me that Poetatoe has a difference with Willmcw over the content of this article, in which case the proper good faith response would have been to invite him to discuss this difference at Talk:Eric Foner (and indeed I hope that he will do so as I am interested in what he has to say). Furthermore, I am not aware that User:Willmcw has the authority to issue "warnings" against other editors and in following Poetatoe around Misplaced Pages, as also appears to have occurred, he has behaved contrary to the spirit of Misplaced Pages:Don't_bite_the_newcomers, prompting Poetatoe to respond with a not-so-far-fetched allegation of stalking. In the interest of full disclosure, I have had similar problems of my own with this same editor's lack of the good faith assumption and behavior towards me that could be described as wiki-stalking of my edits, thus I can sympathize with Poetatoe's rather rude welcoming to wikipedia given by this same editor and hope that the latter will take a moment to remind himself that we operate on good faith assumptions around here absent legitimate cause for doubt. User persists in adding video games (that are not slated for release, or even referenced anywhere on GameFAQS, GameSpot, or Google) about "Amber Sparks" and "Brooke Fox" to lists such as List of Nintendo DS games (and Xbox 360, Playstation3/2/Pocket, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo Revolution, &c) as well as movies. None of his edits have been constructive; all have simply systematically added nonsense links on his two or three favourite, wholly made-up, topics. I would suggest reverting every one of his edits. jglc | t | c 21:07, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

        • I have looked as some of the madly created articles and they look ok. It looks like the user is trying to bring some order to articles in his/her area of interest - bridges, towers and other large civil projects. Although there has been intermittant vandalism from several of the ip's assigned to the University of Cambridge Web Cache Servers like this one, there are a huge lot of good edits, which these appear to be. User should be encouraged to register, if there is a way beyond what is already on the user page. -- WCFrancis 23:27, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I think this is the same user who vandalised Sailor Moon-related articles before. A geographic lookup on the IP comes back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia again. Denelson83 20:03, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
A user with IP 219.93.174.109 has just done the same thing. And, not surprisingly, that IP resolves to Kuala Lumpur. I think this is the same guy. And on June 12, the same thing happened from IP 218.111.168.6, which resolves to Selayang Jaya, which is not far from Kuala Lumpur. I think we may need to trace the exact person who is doing this and alert his or her ISP. Denelson83 01:21, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Created the Misplaced Pages is Evil article, an attack page against Misplaced Pages, and has been attacking its VfD, saying that all of the votes people are putting on it are "not a valid reason to (delete|keep|redirect|...), and putting a listing at the top (above the original lister's) saying that none of the 13 votes cast were "technically valid". His user page also has a heading which says "post your vandalism here". I haven't warned this guy yet or anything, but I'm listing him here in case he tries anything else silly. --Idont Havaname 06:03, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
    • My user page was designed after looking at another administrator's page, who had a "please post your vandalism below" section. It is intended as a joke. I did create the Misplaced Pages is Evil article, but it is not necessarily any more of an attack against Misplaced Pages than the "Misplaced Pages Sucks" article. As for the VfD, I was offering a disclaimer on it because people were simply listing "delete: dumb" and so on, with no discussion which goes against a Misplaced Pages policy, which states: "Misplaced Pages is not an experiment in democracy. Its primary method of finding consensus is discussion, not voting. That is, majority opinion does not necessarily rule in Misplaced Pages. Various votes are regularly conducted, but their numerical results are usually only one of several means of making a decision. The discussions that accompany the voting processes are crucial means of reaching consensus. For example, a very important Misplaced Pages process is reaching consensus on what articles are not encyclopedic and should be deleted from Misplaced Pages entirely. The discussion by which that consensus is reached occurs in the context of a "vote" on the Misplaced Pages:Votes for deletion page. That page is slightly misnamed since the discussion is more important than the actual voting." I hope this clears things up.

User:Nevreware

    • Contributing to an article about notable critics of Misplaced Pages, and their criticisms, is not vandalism (if only the article actually did what it pretends to do). Registering disagreement with voters on Vfd isn't vandalism either (although most of his disclaimers are not any more of a discussion than the votes he pretends to nullify). But, if these things are vandalism, then you are a vandal for listing his name here. Why? because by calling you a vandal, I might be able to intimidate you enough that you are prevented from trying "anything else silly". It's an abuse of the page to list potential vandals on the vandalism in progress page. Mkmcconn (Talk)

  • Richardr443 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) - This is a long story and I'm not sure if I can truncate it. The VfD ruling on the Letter writing article explains most of it. Basically, he wrote an article that is basically a how to on to write a letter. He was basically a jerk about my attempts to wikify the article. So then I put the article up for a vfd. In retaliation, he literally put a wikify tag on every article I've ever written. Eventually, it was decided to make it a transwiki...this after Richard literally deleted the vfd tag several times while it was up for a vote. He was warned several times by RickK to stop doing this. Anyway, it was made into a interwiki link to Wikibooks, which is where I had moved the article. Well several weeks ago, Dmcdevit put the vote up for a speedy delete. At first, I removed the tag and then Dmcdevit put it up for speedy delete again. Well I tried to remove it again but by the time I got to it, the article was gone. 2 days later (today), Richard (using the anon IP of 24.9.112.127, which he had used before) completely recreated the article verbatim. I'm asking that that IP and Richard himself be permanently banned. A notice was also put on the Administrators' incidents page. This is the third time he has tried to recreate this article and I just think he's a nuisance and needs to be banned forever. We've tried warning him several times. Make it stop. --Woohookitty 07:46, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

    • This user really needs a block. His talk page consists of nothing but warnings about inserting nonsense going back to November. His MO is to come along every so often and repeatedly insert unexplained and incorrect information into cartoon articles. He is the only user to have edited from this IP, and so a long-term block (in the order of months not days) is really needed. Thryduulf 22:45, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Ugh... this particular one is nasty. Both anon. users (the reporter and the reported) are engaged in an edit/revert war and I can't tell who's right and who's wrong. I doubt that this can be resolved in a manner that will satisfy either of the anon. users... and to make matters worse, the article in question has a "totally disputed" template attached to it due to the fact that it's about a controversial organization. I'm not going to take sides on this one... one look at the edit history (and that look was taken yesterday) tells me that getting involved in this is far more trouble than it's worth. --Chanting Fox 15:42, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

        • Dirty as in malicious, tricky, even. They look like they may be innocent testing, but if you examine them closely...changing to "green" makes a statement further down incorrect ("will be rendered in red on a white background") / adding "the" changes the entire meaning of the line, making it incorrect. Sorry. I would call this false accusation by User:Ted Wilkes an abuse of the Misplaced Pages guidelines, as this user repeatedly deleted passages I have written in articles and on discussion pages, which were not in line with his personal opinion. This is indeed vandalism. This user's accusations are made for mistaken reasons. See Talk:David Bret, Talk:Nick Adams and Talk:Elvis Presley. Ted Wilkes must be identical with users NightCrawler and JillandJack who are, or repeatedly were, under a Misplaced Pages hard ban. See User:DW.

Note: these are previous edits (long before I showed up) by the same ANONYMOUS user, again for the exact same issues and with no other edits. Like they tried to do to me, this ANONYMOUS user used intimidation and relentless bullying tactics while reverting other User's edits until they drove them away. Ted Wilkes 23:20, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Boasts on his user page that he's "the new vandal in town", and vandalism is all he seems to do. His latest thing is to move articles; for instance, he moved "Doxology" to "Doxology likes apples yummy yummy!" For some reason — software limitations, I'd guess — this doesn't show up on his "User Contributions" page, which makes it hard to see how many articles he's done this to. • Ugh... this particular one is nasty. Both anon. users (the reporter and the reported) are engaged in an edit/revert war and I can't tell who's right and who's wrong.

If that's not enough, I think the John Milton edits make it obvious (replacing a section with "kl;hkljfjgfjghjghjghj", etc.). Reisio 07:07, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
