Thanks. Some sources say that his mother became pregnant in Merv, but gave birth in Baghdad. There are also a few sources that say he was of "Arab background", while other sources call him of "Persian background". For the sake of NPOV, and in order to compromise, we could report both versions in a neutral manner, I'll re-write the section tomorrow.--Mardavich 06:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
