A little more about Błonia, a unique stretch of meadows wedged into the city center, could be added. Religion. Entire section missing. As a bishopric for over 1000 years, a place connected with the lives of many saints, as well as of Pope John Paul II, a site of important shrines including Divine Mercy at Łagiewniki and Holy Cross at Mogiła, Kraków is an important Catholic center. It also attracts many Jewish pilgrims as a formerly important site of Jewish scholarhip.
