Plot
Joe Kingman (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), an American quarterback who plays for the fictional Boston Rebels is known as one of the greatest players in the game. Kingman's lifestyle is soon gone as he discovers he has a 7-year-old named Peyton (Madison Pettis).

- When Peyton was watching TV, it showed The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Also, during the basketball game, when the channel suddenly changed, it showed Disney Channel and Hannah Montana.

As of September 30, 2007 on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, 30% of critics gave the film positive reviews, based on 64 reviews, and the consensus among critics is that the film is "another run-of-the-mill Disney comedy." On Metacritic, the film had a score of 44 out of 100, based on 16 reviews, indicating mixed reviews.
Box office performance
The Game Plan grossed an estimated $22.6 million in 3,103 theaters in its opening weekend and was estimated to be the #1 movie at the U.S. and Canadian box office.
