Welcome to my talk page. Please sign and date your entries by inserting ~~~~ at the end.
Start a new talk topic.
If you come here because of my vandal warning messages from your talk page, then don't bother. I will directly remove your post.
If you come here because one of your links or your ad contents were removed, then please learn what Misplaced Pages is not. I will terminate linkspams on the spot.
If you come here to tease my blood pressure, then waste yourself somewhere else, you stinky troll!
If you come here to discuss about improving Misplaced Pages to be the best Encyclopaedia on earth, then I'd be happy to talk to you anytime. |
However,....
Indon does not have faith anymore in Misplaced Pages. When he's actively online, it means he almost falls asleep and hits the monitor screen. Vandals and spammers are his caffeine drink, but not POV-users (oh, heaven forbids those creatures in Misplaced Pages). Okay, tafandria mandry tompoko! |

Location maps
Thanks for your comments! No, I don't have any other location maps ready yet. I did start on Sumatra and Sulawesi, though, but I still need to regenerate them with better data. BTW, the resolution of the data I'm working with is 90 m - I had to downgrade it by a factor of 6 for Java maps. So I could make location maps for much smaller islands, too. I'm going to create few "real" topographic maps for some of the smaller islands (e.g. Flores, Sumba) and could do location maps for them as well. There probably would be little/no use for them, though. – Sadalmelik 11:15, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
External links on Suppressor article
I have restored the links section on the Suppressor article; you're right that there are questions about WP:SPAM and WP:EL, but I'd prefer that it be discussed some on the article talk page before it's completely removed like that. Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert 21:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Why.......?
Hey Man, would you give one reason why your knaife so sharp to cut every bit of what have I'm done in Bengkalis Regency....? Nice to know you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Me iwan (talk • contribs) 00:22, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Removed link
I don't understand... Forgive me, but I added a link on the "Dirty Dancing" page in good faith to very well regarded wiki style non-commerical site that contains lots of information and you removed it immediately --whilst leaving utter commerical dreck like this link intact(http://www.movieweb.com/movies/film/38/3638/summary.php/)???? Did you even check the link?
UPDATE: I only added it as you were mis-attributing an important quote on the movie's success to two sources that had taken it from another writer in 2001. I also notice that you removed the reference. This was a perfectly legitimate affort to contribute. No wonder good editors are leaving. I added several links because I am a frequent vistor to that site and very much appreciate their totally non-commercial stance with no ads, no agenda and everyone can contribute. I couldn't believe that they (as an important contributor to the genre) weren't listed anywhere whereas so much commercial dreck was... Thats all. Sorry, but this was my first effort at contributing and I feel that you were a little hasty in your judgement... Thanks again. Fanpot 16:17 4 September 2007 (GMT)
Be my guest?
What is that supposed to mean? Can we please address the issue?
Yes, I posted 3 links to an important non-commercial resource from 3 relevant pages. 3, not 3 hundred for heavens sake. But No, I am not a link spammer. And no, you didn't *check* their validity.
I've spent a significant portion of my time this afternoon learning how to contribute before posting and I point you to the following wiki editor guidelines relevant in this situation: (from http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Assume_good_faith)
1) Unless there is strong evidence to the contrary, assume that people who work on the project are trying to help it, not hurt it.
2) If criticism is needed, discuss editors' actions, but it is not ever necessary nor productive to accuse others of harmful motives.
I'm not being funny, but, should I just cancel my account and accept that this is a closed community line DMOZ, where new members are far from welcome to try and help or correct issues? I don't want to waste your time or mine, so honest answers are appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.Fanpot 16:25, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you
Thanks for your latest reply. :)
Obviously being accused of being a spammer was *very* annoying after I'd just spent *ages* trying to figure out how to contribute properly, --but, upon relection I realised that it must be very difficult in your position, so I hope we can chalk this up to my experience and that I may now be able to start fresh and contribute something positive? :)
That said, I have taken your advice and posted to two of the discussion pages of the pages where I tried to contribute. Any further advice you can give would very much be appreciated :)
Can I ask you to please consider reviewing your decisions to delete all my contributions? If I have to go through a proposal stage for every update, it will be a very long and frustrating process (it seems) or is this just the way it works?
Thanks again :) Fanpot 16:35, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
RE:Bali
Sorry - just realized :-) --Ben 07:14, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again :-)
I have had a few experiences of so called "community" sites where the concept is very good, but the reality was a hidden agenda that excluded all but the priviliged few. Wiki seems different and it probably is down to the efforts of people like yourself so, as I said, I understand that it must be hard to seperate the "wheat from the chaff". Thanks again for your help and understanding :-) Fanpot 08:33, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Bengkalis
Hey Man, Look at the article's history at 25 November 2006: . You did cut my own work from years ago, you know that. So what i'm done to that article is only make rollover it to my work from last year.

My changes to my talk page about my mod were removed...Im just wonderng why... I added detailed information about my mod such as file type, download type, size, genre, etc...Apparently Vandalism?

Sundial
Can you please examine the page history. Carl Sabanski's mysundial.ca site is the principal site in the gnomonics community ex Misplaced Pages. It is the only site with the full mathematical treatment of every dial. He is a wikipedian but a ipeditor, but the type of qua;lity editor we cannot afford to lose. Over the last year this link has been persistently targetted in unexplained and possibly sophisticated way and removed. On several occasions I have bored into his site looking for commercial links , libel and anything else unwiki- the site is clean (though the raw HTML is sometimes unexciting.)
I don't understand why, or how you decided to do a delete, but you are obviously being drawn into this spat. What we need is a way to protect this link from deletion. I haven't the experience to initiate this process and I done know the tags to use. These deletions would break the 3 deletions rule 3 times over were it to be the same person who is doing the deletion.
Can you advise. ClemRutter 08:19, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for comment. Did as advised. The mastersite link is www.mysundial.ca/tsp/tsp.html this triggers a spam blocking. I have already requested that this gets a local whitelisting- but there has been no action, which is presumably why other user, used link. This is really a embarrasing tangle. Indonesia collaboration = Jakarta
Hello there Indon, this fortnight's Indonesia project collaboration is > > > Jakarta < < <. Please contribute. The most important thing is to find reliable references for all existing information, and for any new info added.
Also, please help nominate an article for the next collaboration at the collab nomination page. An underdeveloped or stub article is preferred over a long and developed article. Please nominate up to two articles. any questions, please let me know. Kind regards and happy editing. --Merbabu 11:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

You deleted my views on Mughal article. I thought that was right so that people know about the effect of Mughal's ruling in India. Spamming
Hey Indon, seems like you know how to handle Misplaced Pages spammers. So I thought you might be the right one to ask. What way is there to block a spam poster indefinitely or to report him? Seems like User:Angarali is a candidate, for example. Cheers, Trigaranus 22:18, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! Trigaranus 18:40, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Nagarakretagama
Hmmm - are the quote boxes the best way to present in-line quotes? Normally I save them solely for an article that can be read independently of the box - ie, like Mount Tambora or U2 where they are not "in-line". On the other hand, they are really part of the prose in Nagarakretagama and thus I'm thinking that block quote is better. Gimana? --Merbabu 08:42, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I know, but the article is still stubby. There isn't much yet other information about the book. I don't mind of any quote box styles for the article. — Indon (reply) — 08:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Communications in Indonesia
Hi Indon, Communications in Indonesia currently has the most votes for the next collab but I think we should agree on a direction for the article before we make it the collab. In the meantime I will post Sutan Sjahrir as next fortnight's collab. Can you please put your thoughts on Talk:Communications in Indonesia? Many thanks. --Merbabu 09:38, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Re: Speedy deletion of Pardis Maghami
Err... I think I never heard of that page before and don't remember editing it. Why did you write me about it being tagged for speedy deletion? --Fritz S. (Talk) 13:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hm, strange. Must have been some kind of mistake. I don't even know what Pardis Maghami is... --Fritz S. (Talk) 14:10, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Nolan Stolz page
You reverted my edit to the page Nolan Stolz and cited WP:CSD. Can you please explain to me why the page doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion when criterion number 7 states:
- Author requests deletion, if requested in good faith, and provided the page's only substantial content was added by its author. If the author blanks the page, this can be taken as a deletion request.

I notice that you are not putting historical characters into this list. Any reason? Where should, say, Bung Tomo go? thanks! --Merbabu 04:19, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Calo2007
Howdy. Just fyi, I've left a uw-error3 warning template, and removed the welcome template that you left, from Calo2007's talkpage. The account seems to be being used for pure vandalism so far. Members
Hi Indon. I've been asking around regarding 'member'. The word was used to describe members of terorrist organizations such as the IRA and the Red Brigade (and Kopassus!), but it's a strange word. You can say "member of the army", but "army member" sounds strange. Can we stick to "members of the G30S" until or unless somebody comes up with something better?
