So long

What is this the long goodbye? Well maybe. Anyway good luck to User:Mind meal on the Jazz stuff. Good luck to anyone else who needs it. I'm not going to rant like I have in the past. I want to leave on a happy note as most things that were trapping me here seem resolved. True I think it's been a bit of a soul-crushing waste of time, but it had its charms. Have a nice life all!--T. Anthony 14:48, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

I hope his legacy isn't punished too long for my capriciousness and foolishness. An ampitheatre in DeLand, Florida was renamed in his honor and his obituary was in many notable papers. Possibly someone in Misplaced Pages:WikiProject R&B and Soul Music orMisplaced Pages:WikiProject Jazz can do right by him. Sorry to be a disappointment to the Jazz project. I don't believe in this place, but I certainly didn't want to do anything that'd hurt the one thing I still liked here.--T. Anthony 12:07, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm going to call for a deletion review. If I'm susccessful, T, perhaps you can help me eliminate any nonsense that was in the deleted page.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 15:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I understand it though, I was being a dufus. I don't know how I feel at the moment. In many ways I feel very guilty, but I have to admit in other ways I'm pleased someone finally noticed. It took about 2 weeks, which is longer than I hoped but shorter than I expected. I can't deny I'm still fairly critical of Misplaced Pages, but maybe it's not as bad as I'd come to fear. Anyway about the article, it seems like others that were about the same managed to survive so its deletion was a bit of a surprise. I think if it gets undeleted you should return it to the version I started with. It is true his wife was named June, but that can be brought back later. Although the Sugar Ray Robinson thing, which was in the original, might sound phony it is legit as far as I know. Although it is possible they mean a different Sugar Ray Robinson, but the sources did say "Boxer Sugar Ray Robinson." I suppose it's still possible there was another boxer of the same name, but who happened to be a club owner. I don't know if the famous boxer ever owned a club.--T. Anthony 16:13, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Article has been restored with admin's consent and copyedited somewhat.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 19:47, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm glad to hear that. I'll probably never have reason to be back so good-bye and good luck.--T. Anthony 02:29, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Blocking?

When you block me could you do it in a way that doesn't mess up the paintings on my home page? I deserve to be blocked, welcome it even as a clear break with this place, but I've gotten compliments on home-page design so would hate to see it messed up.--T. Anthony 07:05, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

And will you promise to seek professional help for your problem? Because you're some kind of messed up, if you know what I mean. Your actions waste a lot of people's time, and a simple "sorry" doesn't begin to atone for what you've done. Dicklyon 07:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm not at all "messed up" in the way you mean. I am skeptical and dismissive of Misplaced Pages, but this isn't a sign of mental illness. In addition to that there really isn't much work to undo. I was a respectable editor here for over two years and only for about a month have I goofed around...
That said on further consideration I realize that what I did was more hurtful than I intended or thought. I don't take this place serious, but many people do. Sometimes I forget that and that juvenile behavior like mine can really hurt people. I'm sort of glad I got caught and I will try to truly be a "Former Wikipedian." Also I believe this is the first disciplining I've received in my years here and to my surprise it embarrasses me more than I expected.--T. Anthony 08:26, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

There is substantial discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:T._Anthony_admitted_massive_vandalism Hu 08:29, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I see that. As I can't respond there I'll say something here. I imagine many who knew me when are confused or disappointed in me. They have that right I guess. I'm mostly a responsible person, but I can be a bit goofy and self-involved at times. Also I've often become frustrated by the fact that the things I care about are rarely of any interest to Wikipedians. I realize now though that you do notice when I self-destruct those things in a fit of pique or caprice. Apologies for thinking so little of you.

On another note Sugar Ray Robinson really did manage Noble "Thin Man" Watts according to some sources. That was in it early and was not vandalism. If it's wrong it's because music sites are wrong.--T. Anthony 08:36, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I seem to have given false birth dates for Charlie Holmes and possibly Jean Pliya.--T. Anthony 09:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Other sources on Misplaced Pages say Charlie Holmes was born January 27, 1910. I never found his birthdate and sadly made one up. Feel free to put the correct birthdate in when you can.--T. Anthony 04:23, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I hope none of you are too mad. I've read of occasions of people threatening people they know online and I know Misplaced Pages has some genuinely disturbed people. Still I'd be horrified if that happened here. I'm sorry that this came out as bad as it did. I hadn't even done much here for like a week and almost forgot about it.--T. Anthony 09:10, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hand puppets and the Mexican

Any information on whether "Travis Briggs" really did "Hand puppets" for Sketches of Spain? Or "the heavy influence in the modern centuries by the Mexican" to the History of origami? (Not even "the Mexicans", but "The Mexican." You'd think a Mexican person who can live for centuries would have better things to do than heavily influence origami.) If it's vandalism how long do you think it'll last? So far "The Mexican" has lasted almost four months, which is longer than I ever managed.--T. Anthony 07:48, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

User:Salamurai corrected the Sketches of Spain deal. If it turns out Travis Briggs actually did do handpuppets for the album...well if that turned out to be true my question would be "why?"--T. Anthony 06:45, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of Christians (2nd nomination)

You know sometimes I almost think I was too hard on this place, almost. Thankfully I get reminders every now and again to not worry about that. I wonder how long List of Buddhists or List of Jains have left? (I'm guessing a long time because they're less "target-worthy" to the cadre of teenage boys and militant atheists that run this place)--T. Anthony 08:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

I guess I could add List of notable former Christians and most things in Lists of people by belief.--T. Anthony 12:53, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
I see the list was revived. Personally I think it might fare better if it's called "Lists of Christians" and drops the section that names individual Christians.--T. Anthony 06:53, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of Estonian Americans

List of Estonian Americans, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of Estonian Americans satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and the Misplaced Pages deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of Estonian Americans and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of Estonian Americans during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Leuko 18:14, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

I am currently blocked for vandalism. Something I freely admit I did, mostly to articles I created. It was a juvenile thing to do and embarrassing to my own general standards. Still even if I wasn't blocked I currently reject Misplaced Pages in strong terms and would likely have no interest. Still I thank you for this courtesy regardless of all that.--T. Anthony 04:00, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
However reading the debate, and the Christian list one, I will say that some need to read Misplaced Pages:Lists (stand-alone lists). Also look at Misplaced Pages:Featured lists. The current list deletions seemed to be based simply on "lists are bad, categories are better", which wasn't how I'd been told things run here. Either they should decide that the guideline is now irrelevant, and lists truly are bad, or make a guideline that they can prefer. As is lists still can provide things categories can't. In fact for a topic like this I think lists are better than categories as they can more clearly give reasons to why these people are considered Estonian-American, or what have you, rather than simply being an insertion that may last almost forever. (Like the Mexican of origami and the handpuppets of Sketches of Spain) That said in this case a merger to Estonian-American perhaps makes more sense as neither the list nor the article are too long for that.--T. Anthony 04:10, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
