In her book, "Images Of America : City Island and Orchard Beach" the late Catherine Scott said there was a Typhoid Quarantine Hospital on Rat Island in the 1830's but it closed because of storm floods. Alice Payne is over on Reville Street and she might know cause she wrote "Tales of the Clamdiggers. | |||
I was told in 1958 there used to be a Lighthouse there, but I do not know if it is true or not. |
