Conduct disputes |
- ]
Misplaced Pages articles may be placed on article probation by the Arbitration Committee in the course of cases before them. This can be done for numerous reasons, but the most common are:
- Continuous edit warring
- Questionable or malicious editing
- Long running failure to improve from strongly biased or otherwise compromised quality.
- Disruption
- Generally any persistent violations of policies that aren't anyone in particular's fault.
Editors making disruptive edits may be banned by an administrator from articles on probation and related articles or project pages.
Editors of such articles should be ESPECIALLY mindful of content policies, such as WP:NPOV, etc. and interaction policies, like WP:CIVIL, WP:NPA, WP:3RR, and WP:POINT.
When the Committee believes that the article is no longer subject to the disputes which lead to the probation or no longer needs it, it may revoke probation by passing a "motion in a prior case".
Template
The template {{article probation}} is normally placed on the talk page of the article under probation. It may alternatively be used on the article page itself.
