Sky Rock, a Young Enterprise company at the school, raised funds, obtained raw materials, attended jewelry workshops and created prototypes of its goal of producing 'sky high fashion at rock bottom prices'. Mearns Castle High School is a secondary school in Newton Mearns, a suburb of Glasgow, Scotland. Built in 1978 pupils from Mearns Primary, Eaglesham Primary, Kirkhill Primary and Calderwood Lodge are all part of the schools catchment area. The school is situated on Waterfoot Road. Newton Mearns is an affluent commuter suburb, and consequently the school achieves consistently high marks in school performance tables.

The Head Teacher is Mr Dean Smith.

The school has recently received a new extension. The extension of the school is part of a Public Private Partnership Project with builders HBG. Mearns Castle is situated next to Maxwell Mearns Church which hosts the numerous services for all yeargroups throughout the year. It is also positioned next to Mearns Castle, hence the name, "Mearns Castle High School"
