Blacks and The Holocaust
Just as Jews were throughout Europe, so, too, were blacks -- but in far smaller numbers. Most were "mixed-race." They were discriminated against and marginalized and segregated from mainstream German society. Most were forcibly sterilized, but it is estimated that at least 400 German blacks were sent to concentration camps. African-American woman jazz musician Valaida Snow was arrested in Denmark while living in and touring Europe and survived 18 months in Wester-Faengler, a Nazi concentration camp. She was released, along with some Allied troops, as part of a prisoner swap. And there were others. A relatively quick search on the Internet should yeild at least spotty information. If you want to nail it down, I'd say it could go under section 1.2.4, attempts to contact the entity named in the title. It's an attempt to contact all the members of the association. Hate crime?
That's the whole point; if you start putting terrorist acts into hate crimes, then you're going to have thousands of items to chose from - Palestinian bus bombings, IRA pub bombings, Tamil bombs, Chechen school massacres, whatever. Hate crimes are typically confined to acts which don't reach the level of terrorism; beating someone up because of their ethnicity, spray-paining offensive slogans, destroying tombstones, etc. Including only Kahane's act is, of course, just another example of this editor's obssession with Jews and POV pushing. As well, it appears to be original research; Kahane's act is generally defined as a terrorist act (except by his supporters), not a hate crime. Jayjg 00:49, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
