It's not exactly reasonable or appropriate for you to remove speedies from crappy, unsourced articles that don't assert notability with phony claims of "possible significant coverage." GAC expedited evaluation
I have had 30 successful WP:GAC evaluations, but do not recall if you have done any. I have never requested an expedited review. Do you have any advice on my request for an expedited GAC review?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 18:53, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates/Edward Low
Hi Epbr123. Thanks for your comments on the FAC for Edward Low - I have made most of the changes you suggested, and explained things on the FAC page. Please let me know what you now think of the article! Best, Neil ム 21:28, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- En dashes added. Neil ム 22:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- Responded to the second set, too. I don't want to come across as churlish, but it might be less work for you to fix many of the things you've identified yourself rather than explaining. I don't mind fixing them subsequently, but "inconsistent use of dashes" doesn't tell me enough to know what the problem is. Thank you for your comments though, they are appreciated! MR GREET AND THE NEAR DESTITUTION OF QUEENBOROUGH.
Dear Epbr123,
I'm assuming that you have written much of the history of Queenborough for the Wickipedia page on the borough - or maybe not. But if so here is my question:-
In the 1820s the town's corporation (led by the mayor called Thomas Young Greet) came in to conflict with the town's fishermen. It led to the town's near destitution. It is quite a saga which I've only picked up in snippets using Google Book Search. Is there a modern account of these events?

Thanks for uploading Image:Jazmin.jpg and putting it into the Jazmin article. I wish you could work on the article too. But, anyways this is a tremendous moment for Bangladesh-related porn. Thanks and cheers. Aditya 13:02, 9 October 2007 (UTC) |
Thanks
Thanks for your help in getting the Didsbury article up to scratch, it's much appreciated. There were an awful lot of things needing to be done, and there are still quite a few left to be done. The standard expected seems to be getting higher and higher all the time. Not necessarily a bad thing though, I suppose. --Malleus Fatuarum 00:24, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Pornographic performer articles
You've been doing very nice work the last few days. I don't know if I like the idea of separate pages for all the unsuccessful nominations, but other than that, if you hadn't just deleted your awards sections, I'd be giving you another one. --AnonEMouse 16:59, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ta. I understand your concerns about the appropriateness of listing the unsuccessful nominations, as I know you don't rate nominations very highly, but if they are listed for the lesser stars, I don't see the harm in listing them for the top ones; and I'm sure you see why such a list would need to be on a separate page. Listing nominations is consistant with other entertainment genres, such as music. Epbr123 17:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

My recent RfA
I am sorry you felt it necessary to oppose my recent RfA, which did not succeed. I will attempt to get more experience in the main namespace and the Misplaced Pages namespace and will try again for RfA in two month's time. I hope I will have satisfied your concerns by then, but if not, please comment as you feel you should. Thanks for participating in my RfA. -- Cobi 08:06, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Michael Zen
A tag has been placed on Michael Zen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages per CSD A1.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Misplaced Pages criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. MasterXC 16:05, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Your RfC/U
I would like to formally and politely ask that you discontinue adding material to your response at the RfC/U regarding your behavior, if such material does not pertain to the RfC/U in question. It troubles me that you have taken advantage of the RfC/U format, and have taken to adding accusations that have no bearing on the situation at hand (e.g. ). The RfC/U allows you to mount a defense, and to question the actions of the other users involved, but only insofar as the complaint is concerned. By making accusations that are not related, our actions are taken out of context, and we are given no means to explain, defend, or contextualize these accusations. Those issues are to be resolved in the relevant way - the ones for which you've indicted me have all been resolved, as best as they can, to everyone's satisfaction. It is highly inappropriate, as far as I'm concerned, and causes me serious misgivings about your approach to the RfC/U process. Please take note that this is a formal request: I am not asking you to discuss this matter, justify your actions, or anything of the sort. I do not expect or desire a response, and would prefer if there were none. I do not have the time to discuss the matter with you in any depth, and believe no constructive conversation would take place. I am simply making very clear how I (and others) perceive your ever-expanding "response" to the RfC/U, and our desire that you would instead participate in this process by responding in a constructive and fair manner. --Cheeser1 10:01, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- All the pieces of evidence I have provided are highly relevant to the RfC. I have refrained from adding the many pieces of irrelevant evidence found. Epbr123 10:08, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Porn star categories
I see you are applying porn star categories. There was an earlier concern that "star" is not an accurate term for everyone who appears in a pornographic film. What criteria are you using to decide if folks are porn actors versus porn stars? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm trying to saw the discusion were, or what the consensus was.
- The main article is at Pornographic actor, where it's been for a year since moving from "Pornographic performer". There have been short discussions at Talk:Pornographic actor in 2003 and 2005, but as far as I can tell it's never been called "Porn star".
- I think I'm recalling the debates about Category:People appearing in gay pornography.and CFD:Category:Gay porn stars CFD:Category:Gay porn stars (redux) and CFD: Category:People appearing in gay pornography Those discussions touch on using "porn star" in a category name.
- The "Category:Male porn stars" was created on June 3, 2005, but "Category:Female porn stars" wasn't created until April 14, 2006. The women must have been in some the undifferentiated "Category:Porn stars" which we've had since June 13, 2004.
- I thought there was a general consensus opposing the "porn star" term, but it was probably limited to the debates on the one category. So the categories you've applied are probably fine, but we may want to think of renaming them to something. They've been pretty stable at their existing names, so it's not urgent. Anyway, carry on. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 09:10, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Epbr123. I see that you removed Michael Lucas (porn star) from Category:Male porn stars. This article has been somewhat of a football in the recent past. I hope your edit will not set off a new round of instability. Have you posted anywhere on what your plan is? EdJohnston 20:03, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- No, I haven't posted what I'm doing anywhere, but it seems a pretty clear cut issue. Category:Male porn stars is intended for actors in heterosexual porn, whereas gay-porn actors belong in its subcategory Category:People appearing in gay pornography. But if anyone wants to revert my change, I won't cause a fuss. Epbr123 20:13, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- The article is titled Michael Lucas (porn star). Would you remove 'porn star' from the title? If so, what alternative do you suggest? Is there a thread discussing whether gay porn stars are also regular porn stars? I can't believe I'm having this conversation. :-) EdJohnston 20:41, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Again, Category:People appearing in gay pornography is a subcategory of Category:Male porn stars. Epbr123 20:48, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Denver GA question
You recently posted on the Talk:Denver, Colorado, that the GA would pass if we could provide fair use rationale on the page's images. I am not sure exactly what you would want the Denver editors to do about that since virtually all the images have proper licenses or are public domain because they are produced by the government or were created before 1923. Are there specific images you had concerns about? If so please let us know. Thanks, Vertigo700 16:29, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Tiny places
Hi there. I have noticed with interest your alphabetical sojourn around some of Scotland's smaller settlements. I was wondering if it was politic to mention that some of them are hardly 'villages' and possibly below the notability threshold. Amhuinnsuidhe for example, gave me pause for thought - there is already an Amhuinnsuidhe Castle and there are probably fewer than 10 people in the settlement within a mile either side of it. It's up to you of course, but I must mention An Clachan. I am not sure where it is supposed to be, but the one at latitude= 55.85 longitude=-06.45 is simply a rock somewhere off the coast of Islay I'm afraid. Ben MacDui (Talk) 18:45, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Edmonton delist
Thanks for the edit of the Edmonton article. I authored a lot of the article about two years ago but have been very busy with an MA thesis to pay much attention to it. I'll try working on it over this weekend to get things up to current standards. I'll add citations as I can, but there are certain things which are rather common knowledge around the City. For instance, the downtown having high office vacancy in the 90s and now much lower. Due to the somewhat competitive nature between Edmonton and Calgary, perhaps you could give Calgary's page a look over to? :) Rendar 22:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, in August 2007, you created an article called Bradley Cross. As you will be able to see, the article hardly shows any information, except for one or two facts that could be found all over the internet on map websites. Adminship?
Hello Epbr123, I've seen you around alot recently on the wiki, and that's probably due to my increased activity. I would like to nom you, but I have reservations because of the userbox on your UP saying you don't wish to be an admin, and the fact that you haven't already been nominated makes me believe you've already turned down a nom? I know this might seem strange seen as you voted !oppose in my RfA but I don't really see that as a big deal. I hope you do accept this request from one user to another. I will start a RfA page for you when you accept my nom, but if not no big worries. Thank you and Regards, Rudget Contributions 21:24, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your offer. After giving it some thought, I've decided to accept your nomination. Although, as a regular participant at AfD, I have had a fair share of conflict; the RfA will be tough, but it will be interesting to see how it works out. Epbr123 22:07, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- I advise waiting a bit. You have done a lot of good things, but you have gotten into a number of conflicts not that long ago. A reasonable suggestion would be to wait until you can be fairly sure that say, half, of the people commenting at your RFC won't oppose you. (Some are probably ... I hate to say trolls, but let's say dead set against you for less than ideal reasons ... but some are reasonable and experienced editors.) --AnonEMouse 13:36, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'll take AnonEMouse's advice and leave it a while, Rudget. Thanks again. Epbr123 13:45, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Fine by me. Drop me a line anytime. I also concur with AnonEMouse with the RFC comments, I wasn't aware of that but was recently notified, and so leaving it a while would be an excellent suggestion. Rudget Contributions 15:09, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Bradley Cross
A tag has been placed on Bradley Cross requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lunchscale 13:42, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- I just removed the tag, unaware of the discussions going on on the talk pages of the you and the other editor. As you probably know, villages and cities, etc... are typically not db'd, but if you think it is too small, you might consider placing {{db-self}} on the page, or blanking it. I will then delete it.--Esprit15dtalk to me) 14:08, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- As User:Rodw has just gone to the trouble of expanding the article, maybe it should stay. Epbr123 14:13, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi! As you're creating the new articles on towns in Burkina Faso, could you include a reference? It would save me the trouble of tagging them as unreferenced. Thanks! -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:24, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- The articles I'm referring to are articles like Kouere; it would be really helpful if you included a source in these new articles. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:27, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- Each article has a link to various maps through the co-ordinates link at the top right of the page. Might this be enough to show the info is true? Epbr123 16:29, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Braan
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Braan, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Hello
Nice to see someone here having spent (and spending) more time on Misplaced Pages than myself. But I've noted you still use templates from Template:TestTemplates. If I may say so, those are deprecated, the thing nowadays are WP:WARN. And to be honest, I think you sometimes are a bit harsh- Special:Contributions/Joblax had a selfreverted vandalism, and you dished out a blatant-warning, looking like a level 3 or perhaps level 4. Of course, I can't see if that person has some deleted vandalism in addition (which of course might explaing it) but it does look a bit, well, harsh. But by all means, keep up the good work! I've tried to address all the points at the Sandbox, except for the request for more info on his early life... If I could find some, I'd certainly add it, but haven't been able to so far. Let me know if you have any more concerns/suggestions. I'll tinker around with it a little more, follow a few more leads for information, do som more work on the list of writings and maybe the filmography, and maybe submit it for GA review in a week or two. Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Misplaced Pages better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 10:11, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your post, but I'm not interested in adminship. Hey Epbr123, thanks for the nod. I'll have to think about it. I find the RfA process highly political, and dis-unifying to the community. How did you come to think that I would be a good admin? Regards, -- Jeff3000 13:50, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

UKCOUNTIES?
Hello Epbr123! I Hope all is well. I'm contacting you as part of your continued membership of WP:UK Geography.
In addition to some cosmetic upgrades I've made/requested for the project, I'm considering a draft upgrade of the Misplaced Pages:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about counties guide, so that it is much more user friendly and at a standard more akin to the WP:UKCITIES standard.
Of course I'd like to have you involved from the start. If you have any concerns or ideas, I'd be grateful if you could leave them at my talk page, where I'll pool together some ideas from some other users and then report back with them. My initial thoughts are they should inline with the existing policy on counties as well as allow for flexibility for ENG/SCO/WLS/NI. Hope you can help, -- Jza84 · (talk) 22:17, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
RfA for Canadian Paul
Four years ago this day, a foreigner was voted by the community to serve a land that he loved. Today, a new foreigner humbly accepts the charge and support of serving a community that he loves. Hopefully, he won't disappoint. Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a vote of (47/0/1). The trust bestowed upon me by the community is one of the most touching honours that I have ever received, and I vow not to let you down. Whether you have suggestions for ways in which I could improve, a request for assistance or just need someone to listen, my talk page and my email are always open. I pledge to do what I can to help this project, in the words of a man who needs no introduction, "make the internet not suck." A special thank you goes out to Tim Vickers for nominating me. wikiproject uk geo
Can I suggest that where more than 1 project has adopted an article, and you're adding a further one, you also add {{WikiProjectBanners}} to tidy them up. My personal view is that for London articles, WPLondon and WPTransportforLondon are sufficient, as these are daughter projects of your own esteemed project, and it's a little overkill to have so many banners on talk pages; but I do realise that other's mileage may differ ... River Trent v River Severn
By what strange logic are these in different importance cats. Geographically they seem rather similar to me (they're both the last seaward leg, both have tidal surges, etc.) And having looked out at the two of them for many years of my life, (I was born on the south side of Derby, went to work at Berkeley), they seem of similar strategic importance, eg to their joint water board (ST). How to write about...
Hello again Epbr123. Thanks for rolling out WP:UKGEOs banner so rapidly! That was amazing! I though it'd take months!... undoubtedly there will be articles not yet tagged, but once we have a bulk of them it should catch on.
Just wanted to bring your attention to WP:UKCOUNTIES - I've published some draft guidelines and I'm keen to get some more feedback and input on them. I don't think these will have as many points of contention as WP:UKCITIES did, but I'm still wary of setting them in stone without community involvement. Michael Lucas (porn star)
Editor Lucasent has removed sourced material five times in the last three days from the Michael Lucas bio. You made this edit on Lucasent's talkpage when Lucasent prod'ed the article in October. Lucasent seems bent on removing reference to Lucas being a prostitute and founding his company with money he earned through prostitution, a fact well-sourced in the article. Other editors have reverted the vandalism, but the editor persists -- and the current revision reflects the vandalism. There's obvious COI stuff going on here. --72.76.100.166 (talk) 22:23, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Careful
It is good to see that you are tagging with WP:UKgeo. However, can i ask you to be careful when tagging as, for example, with the Herts project, when you copied the projects to the Banners template, you also added an extra class= so it read class=class=B. Please preview and that in future a bit ore. Thank you for your time and keep up the good work otherwise. Simply south (talk) 23:13, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'll check if that's happened with any others. Epbr123 (talk) 23:14, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Single banner in shell
Just wondered, why are you nesting single banners in {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}? Usually this is only used for 3+ banners, and just one nested on an otherwise empty talk page just looks a but weird! It also detracts from one of the reasons to have talk page banners - so people interested in the project see an obvious banner. Regards, Severo 21:50, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I think it saves having to add the BannerShell later once other project banners are inevitably added to the talk page. WikiProject England and WikiProject Cities will probably tag the same articles I've tagged in the near future, and each county will probably eventually its own project. AfD nomination of List of churches in Greater Manchester
List of churches in Greater Manchester, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of churches in Greater Manchester satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and the Misplaced Pages deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of churches in Greater Manchester and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of churches in Greater Manchester during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Argyll and Bute settlements
I've tagged some of the settlement articles in Category:Villages in Argyll and Bute for WP:PROD deletion: Annat, Argyll and Bute, Add, Argyll and Bute, Achnahard, Aird, Argyll and Bute. Thank-you for the compliment. There was a time last year when I became extremely interested in adminship. I was enrolled in the admin coaching program, in fact. I had a very disrupting health problem (cancer) come up which made my use of wikipedia very sporadic and difficult for several months, however, so I withdrew from the program. In the past 3 months I have been doing very well, healthwise, and I am again able to spend more time in wikipedia editing and patrolling, so I am indeed interested once again in adminship. One concern I have, however, is the perception that others will have of my former activity level and my period of idleness, followed by my now lower contribution level. I do what I can now, which I think is very beneficial, and I do see times where the mop tools would come in handy to repair messes like improper page moves, forgotten tags, etc. So if you feel I am a worthy candidate, I would be honored to be nominated. Settlements in Kent
Hi Some months ago I was active in writing/updating articles on Kentish settlements, but have had a busy time and had to give up for a while. I tried to make sure that each settlement was given its precise appellation - was it a village or hamlet; was it a civil parish as well as a village - or was it, like Ash-cum-Ridley civil parish, a collection of villages; which local government district was it in? As a geographer I felt that that was the proper approach, although it did take time. On my return I see there is now a plethora of articles produced by your good self on what are in essence merely hamlets or often just names on a map. They all say the same thing: "xxx is a village in Kent, England". Since that is all they say, they now appear on the Category:Kent geography stubs. To take just a the first few examples, from the A section of the stubs list:
- Abbey Gate is simply a collection of houses around the old Boxley Abbey, and is virtually part of the Maidstone area
- Acrise Place - see the article Acrise
- Anvil Green - even on the map it does not look like a village - a name, yes
- Appledore Heath is just a northern extension of Appledore itself
- Ashbank - part of Leeds village
- and one more
- Baker's Cross - again a name on the map, but part of Cranbrook.
- and one more
It does seem a pity that these articles jump the gun a bit, since I feel that a little more time with each one could have given more precise information. Was it necessary to have them all articled in such a manner? A village is a village, and not a hamlet or a collection of houses, IMO. Regards Peter Shearan (talk) 08:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Feel free to alter or merge them. Epbr123 (talk) 08:27, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

City & South London Railway has been at FAC for over a month, and my maintenance of User:Deckiller/FAC urgents doesn't seem to be prompting reviews; since it's London, would it be up your alley and would you have time to review it? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 10:02, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
RfA thanks
Thank you for voting in my RfA, which passed with 24 support, 3 oppose, and 3 neutral. I promise to work my hardest to improve the Wiki with my new tools. Thanks for nominating me. |

James Milner
Hi, could you please take a look at the article James Milner for me? The article was previously an FAC, but failed because the prose wasn't good enough. Could you please take a look when you can find the time? Thanks you. Buc (talk) 09:46, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Sheep
Hey, considering that you've made some copyediting to Sheep (thanks btw), I was wondering if you could chime in at a current dispute there for a better group consensus. Right now, a user has made WP:OWN accusations against me for giving a detailed response to some controversial claims he has made without strong evidence (in my opinion). If you could make your voice heard, even if you disagree, it would be most appreciated. VanTucky 09:09, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Joey Barton
Similarly to Buc's request above, when you get a chance could you please look at the prose in the Joey Barton article. It's currently GA status. Thanks, Sir-Nobby (talk) 17:22, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Wikilinking the date parameter
Hi! Please do not make any more edits like this one. The citation templates automatically wikilink the date parameter. —Remember the dot 18:24, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, good. The date linking in the citation template has finally been fixed. Epbr123 (talk) 18:49, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the offer... I accept
Thanks for the kind offer to nominate me for administrator, but for the time being I prefer to concentrate on writing in Misplaced Pages, rather than performing administrative functions. All the best... Pinkville (talk) 23:28, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've thought this over quite carefully and I've changed my mind. I am indeed willing to run for admin. What would you like me to do regarding the nomination? Pinkville (talk) 20:49, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- I won't have access to the internet from the 24th to the 26th, so it would be best to begin the proceedings on the 27th, I believe. Thanks again. Pinkville (talk) 20:57, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, but no thanks
Thank you for the offer, but I don't believe I have what it takes to be an admin, and I do not have the spare time to contribute as one. -- saberwyn 23:58, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Is there anyway you can look over Davenport, Iowa and if u feel like doing two, Iowa and tell me what i need to fix/improve to get it to GAC? I'm also asking User:Maclean25's opinion too, so if you could respond on the respective article talk pages...thanks Ctjf83 02:09, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- how do i find the author, publisher, publishing date for web sites? Ctjf83 19:49, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks, if you don't mind, I'll refer any questions related to the article improvement to you Ctjf83 20:07, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- oh, there is no problem linking the "sports" and "media" sections right to the Quad Cities sections, is there? Ctjf83 20:10, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, for the references can you perhaps do the first one, by which i mean the first sentence of the second paragraph. I'm not sure the format to properly cite it, in regards to adding, publisher, date, and author Ctjf83 03:46, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks again!
Thank you again for nominating me for adminship - as you probably noticed, it passed uncontested at 44-0. I'm gratified for the support from the community, and intend to use these shiny new buttons with great care for the betterment of Misplaced Pages. Cheers! Re: Admin
Hi, I'd be happy to stand to be an admin. Could you nominate me? thanks, --Nick Dowling (talk) 07:44, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Would you consider nominating me for adminship again at some point?
I've got rid of all my Misplaced Pages essays, controversial and non-controversial, and am trying to do things as well as I possibly can. I'm planning to involve myself with areas of Misplaced Pages I haven't worked on before, but I can't think which would be best to start on. I'm well used to Articles for deletion, and it's one of my favourite things to do on Misplaced Pages, but I'd like to branch out more. Any suggestions?--h i s r e s e a r c h 18:50, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- You already have more admin related experience than most RFA candidates, but if you want to expand your skills further, I suggest making more reports to WP:AIV, getting more involved in guideline discussions and Wikiprojects, and maybe recieve AdminCouching. The allowable time between RFAs is generally three months, and hopefully you'll be luckier at your next one. Before your last RFA was ended, there was starting to be a backlash against some of the harsh opposes, and I think if the RFA had kept going it would have been close to passing. Epbr123 (talk) 20:02, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Located
I see you have removed the word 'located' from a large number of articles including a number I have contributed to. Whilst this has not affected meaning in some cases or had only minor impact in others it has IMHO affected the intended emphasis so I have reverted these. I guess this is one of the perils of a wholesale adjustment but no worries I will adjust.Tmol42 (talk) 17:11, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Admin nomination
Thanks for the offer to nominate me, but as you've seen I'm more interested in writing & improving articles than some of the admin tasks (even though I know they are important). I'm not aware of any tools that being an admin would gain that would help me with - although its nice to have been asked.— Rod 23:15, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Kate Bush Wow Sample.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kate Bush Wow Sample.ogg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:27, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
GA reviewer comments
You seem to be the big GA review overseer so I would like to call your attention to . I would also like to note that your GA Medal awardee was not as thorough as I would have liked at Dennis Franklin and Bob Timberlake, which I think could both have been written more thoroughly as holds. However, I should not gripe because neither of them is my best work. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 00:34, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Porn star articles and AfDs
I'm just interested, since you seem to be nominating so many porn star articles for deletion, are you a fan of pornography yourself? Or would you be interested in joining WikiProject Pornography? I'm not a member myself there, but I'm really glad you brought Christy Marks to my attention because she is smokin' hot.--h i s r e s e a r c h 00:59, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- I do quite a lot of work on pornography articles, but I don't tend to join projects. I wouldn't be suprised if Christy Marks eventually wins Score magazine Model of the Year, so her article will probably be able to be resurrected at some time. Epbr123 (talk) 01:09, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- She's kinda a bit like Nicole Peters, I guess, in that sense. You didn't answer my question, and you don't have to.--h i s r e s e a r c h 02:52, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Sonatas and Interludes
Thanks for your note, Epbr123. The matter of numbers as words is contentious, and due for review at WP:MOS, where I edit a lot. My considered opinion is that the break should be at one hundred (at least as an option for articles), in accord with a practice sanctioned by major styles guides. I'll be arguing the case for this soon at MOS. Anyway, as I point out in my edit summary, exceptions are allowed for. Don't you think consistency and aesthetic considerations weigh heavily in this case?
Best wishes to you.

Can you tell me who's the GA Reviewer of the Month? I'm stepping in for Derek Cashman as I believe he's busy or away. OhanaUnited 02:03, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

I've got Dihydrogen Monoxide slated as the next reviewer of the month, having been listed as #1 for 3 out of the 4 weeks. Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3
Thank you for your participation in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate that landed on WP:100, but ultimately was deemed a successful declaration of consensus, and I am now an admin. I definitely paid close attention to everything that was said in the debate, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. I'm working my way through the Misplaced Pages:New admin school, carefully double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools, with my main goals being to help out with various backlogs. I sincerely doubt you'll see anything controversial coming from my new access level. :) I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are a few more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status. If you do ever have any concerns about my activities as an administrator, I encourage you to let me know. My door is always open. Have a good new year, --Elonka 04:03, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Stop being a porn-obsessed stalker
It's not exactly reasonable or appropriate for you to remove speedies from crappy, unsourced articles that don't assert notability with phony claims of "possible significant coverage." What, I proposed getting rid of the article on your favorite plastic-chested sex worker? Get over it. VivianDarkbloom (talk) 23:39, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
