Asajaya is a small Sarawakian town located in the Samarahan Division. Most of its inhabitants are made up of the Malay (Orang Laut), Chinese and Iban people. Asajaya have a small town, namely Pekan Asajaya. It is the point where all the ethnic were gather together or other name, it is a melting pot for the residents to mix among themselves. There is a district office - Pejabat Daerah Asajaya, which means Asajaya District Office. The District Officer of Asajaya is Madam Rubiah. The former PBB chairman in this area is Haji Ellin b Naneng or known as Mok Aji Ellin. One of the most important to expand or make Asajaya become more advance as other town is by education. The schools in Asajaya plays important roles of educating Asajayan.There was a clinic a few years ago but it was destroyed in fire recently. This causes a few doctors to lose their jobs and the residents had to go to further clinics.
