On July 7, 2005, explosions were reported at various London Underground stations in central London, specifically Aldgate (at 08:49 local time, in London's rush hour), Edgware Road, Kings Cross St Pancras, Old Street and Russell Square tube station, and on buses in Tavistock Square and the Russell Square area. They were initially attributed to power surges, but rumours have indicated the possible existence of "at least one explosive device". Many casualties have been reported, but no dead have been officially confirmed. Reports of explosions on other buses have yet to be confirmed.
