The current status of a portion of the route is uncertain. Several online mapping sites, including and , show the portion of the route between Highways 54 and 42 as S.R. 160, while the 2003 ] road atlas shows it as S.R. 54 Connector. While this official information would normally be enough to confirm the change, doubt is cast by a recently-released GDOT map of Clayton County claiming to have all numerical route designations accurate as of ], ]. This map shows the portion between Highway 54 and the DeKalb County line as S.R. 160, ''not'' as S.R. 54 Connector. No route marker appears on the road in question on the associated DeKalb County map. It is possible that the S.R. 160 designation may have been revived for this portion of the route.

Georgia State Route 160 is a former Georgia state route in northern Clayton County and southwestern DeKalb County. Its western terminus was at U.S. 19/41 and S.R. 3 near Interstate 285, from which it proceeded in an east-southeasterly direction through Forest Park for approximately 2.0 miles to an intersection with S.R. 54 near Lake City. The route then turned north-northwest, multiplexing with S.R. 54 for about 1.4 miles, then turned northeast for 2.3 miles before reaching its other end at U.S. 23/S.R. 42, again near I-285.

S.R. 160 was decommissioned in the mid-1990s, likely due to its proximity to S.R. 331, which was separated from S.R. 160 by little more than a set of railroad tracks in Forest Park. The segment between S.R. 54 and U.S. 23 still survives as S.R. 54 Connector.

This map shows the portion between Highway 54 and the DeKalb County line as S.R. 160, not as S.R. 54 Connector. No route marker appears on the road in question on the associated DeKalb County map. It is possible that the S.R. 160 designation may have been revived for this portion of the route.
