Asajaya is a small Sarawakian town located in the Samarahan Division. Most of its inhabitants are made up of the Malay (Orang Laut), Chinese and Iban people. Asajaya have a small town, namely Pekan Asajaya.

There are a few primary schools - SJK Chung Hua Asajaya, SK Asajaya Ulu, SJK Chung Hua Semera, SJK Chung Hua Jemukan and so on. There are also three secondary school - SMK Pesantren (only for Muslims), SMK Asajaya and SMK Semera.
