Ormus is a reference to the PS2 series Xenosaga.

NOTE: Ormus is a mysterious organization. The following is mostly logical conclusions from Xenosaga Episode II.

Ormus is an ancient religious cult that originated on Lost Jerusalem. Members of Ormus seem to follow a blend of Christianity and Zoroastrianism, yet they believe that the Zohar is an artifact of divine intervention. They were the first to leave Lost Jerusalem via the Immigrant Fleet, just a short time before the downfall of Lost Jerusalem.

In the setting of the Xenosaga series (set four thousand years in the future), Ormus continues to lust for the original Zohar on Miltia. An Ormus Front, the Immigration Fleet, sends it's leader, the Patriarch, to seize control over Old Miltia and the Original Zohar. However, after the Patriarch summons Proto Omega and the Omega System from the ruins of Old Miltia and prepares for galactic domination via the Zohar; the Testaments kill him. The current condition of Ormus' sub-organizations remains relatively unknown; however, U-TIC, Hyams, and perhaps the Yuriev Institute are still operational. It is possible that the acting leader of Ormus is either Heinlein (Hyams), Sellers, or Margulis (U-TIC). Dimitri Yuriev may also have strong connections to Ormus, despite his possible hatrid of U-TIC.

Margulis and Heinlein are both powerful leaders in the Ormus Organization, especially after the defeat of the Patriarch. It is clear that Ormus and all of its fronts are involved in the web of deception surrounding the Original Zohar, as Jin Uzuki pointed out in Episode II. Many speculate that Wilhelm has subordinates planted in the Ormus spider, as it spins a web of manipulation and deception, perhaps via the Hyams front.

Followers of Ormus claim that they have been the guardians of the Zohar since recorded history. In turn, they use it in any way they see fit. They say that Ormus has existed before the crucifixion of the messiah (Jesus). Followers believe that all life throughout the universe must be guided by Ormus and the Zohar, and they shall be led unto a higher plane of existence. They claim that this is the mission God has entrusted to them.

The former leader of Ormus, the Patriarch, planned to wipe out the Gnosis with Proto Omega (a gigantic robot powered by the Zohar) and place the entire star cluster under the jurisdiction of Ormus. When they awakened Proto Omega, it destroyed the entire planet of Old Miltia and created an enormous space station known as the Omega System. Margulis then abandoned the Patriarch on the Omega System so that Heinlein could become the new Patriarch. The Patriarch was then killed by Testament before he could carry out his plans. Testament destroyed Proto Omega and took the Zohar as their own.
