Hiya, I made this edit to make your username signature work they way you wanted it to. You can tinker with your signature settings in your 'preferences' tab if you want your signature to always read that way but still work as a link to you userpage. Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Misplaced Pages's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, article improvement contests, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a style guide that covers article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- The project has a stress hotline available for your use.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill 16:29, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
RE: thanks
No worries. Also, try to leave a new message at the very bottom so people know where to look for it. If you click '+' at the top it will do that automatically :) happy editing! SGGH 20:52, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Firearms
Welcome to the WikiProject Firearms. I hope you enjoy being a member.--LWF 22:27, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
RE: A question
I don't mind you asking at all. I am indeed a British police officer. I'm a special with Avon and Somerset Constabulary and have been so for about two months now. Firearms are hardcore! We had a group teaching me the self defence training and it was moderately hard core (I have some Combined Cadet Force experience so I am used to it, but some of the others found it markedly different.)
If you have any questions you can feel free to ask me, but I would rather if you email them, for obvious reasons! :)
Good luck! SGGH 20:41, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Re. Border
In reply to your message: Hey, I'm very well thanks =) I think you'd really enjoy Australia, I hope you can make it out here one day!
I nicked the border off someone else's page and modified it and you're more than welcome to do the same here. I've simplified my coding a bit for you by inserting little tags so you can find it. Just begin editing my userpage/talk page and copy and paste the coding for the page border - it's at the very top. Insert it at the top of your coding and change the hex values to change colours to your liking. If you're unfamiliar with hex values, there's a simple colour chart at http://html-color-codes.com
Sorry, I tried to put the code into this message but it wouldn't work properly so you can just copy and paste from mine. If you have any questions just ask =) happy editing! SMC89 12:31, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- In reply to your message: Yeh I've been watching The Bill for years and I've been collecting the box sets of the originals so that I can catch up on what I missed before I was even born! I agree about the Wikiproject, it is a shame. I should really get back into it now that I've finished exams. I'll see you around =) SMC89 13:04, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Your addition to the SAS page was interesting but needs some evidence to back it up. One of the biggest issues with most of the SF related pages is lack of sources to substantiate what's said, so if you've got something which meets the needs of Wikipedias verifiability policy then it would be useful to add it. If not then it's liable to end up removed.
All the best
ALR (talk) 22:16, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
No problem, you just need to add the reference to the article where you added it. I notice you've got a welcome template up above, that'll take you to where you can find the guidance on how to add references.
It's worth reviewing verifiability, Point of View and No original research. Personally I think that the guidance on sources in wikipedia is abysmal, but as long as you stick with those three the majority of your edits will be safe.

I didn't actually delete more than a few words, I moved most of the openng section into a section called 'Training and operations' ;) Ninetyone (talk) 15:11, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
right, what you have written is not a wikipedia article. for one, headings should not finish in colons and the headings themselves are *too* specific (yes, i know it sounds silly ;)).
i re-wrote some of what you wrote to both improve the english, and to make it more encyclopediatic-whatever. your content is very good, it was just your style that i improved a little.
the first para is only supposed to briefly explain the article, and should not be more than a few sentances long.
if you have issues with anything, please tell me, then i'll change it back by section, ok?
oh, and btw, i am only two years your elder ;)

RE: Hey! topic
Hello there, thanks for the enquiry about the police. Yes, if you really want to join the police I suggest you do, but not at 18. Wait, until you are about 22 (when you have more experience of the world etc...) And yes, I did used to be in firearms, but I moved back to patrol because its rather risky and I would like to start a family soon.
Thanks for the comment, Have a great Christmas!
Any more questions please comment me :)

Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 15:54, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Further to that, I know everyone thinking of joining gets told this but it really is true; don't expect it to be like TV. While it's a fulfilling, rewarding, exciting job sometimes, for every hour of foot chases, dawn raids and high-profile arrests, there are ten hours of standing on crime scenes alone, directing traffic in the rain, "providing a visible presence" (aka: wandering around shopping malls being abused by complete strangers) and possibly the most soul-destroying job on the planet, ANPR operations. From your edit history I assume it's the Met Police you're planning to join, in which case add endless form-filling, a public who by-and-large treat you like an occupying army, and the ever-present possibility of compulsory transfer to Metcall. That's not meant to put you off - it is a unique job and can be uniquely satisfying - but it can also be uniquely boring and a lot of probationers are shocked to discover that. I agree entirely with Dep. Garcia about waiting until your early 20s before joining; quite apart from the fact that you're far more likely to be accepted at an older age, it never hurts to have some hands-on experience on how the real world operates. Assuming it's the UK police you're joining, you might want to consider joining as a PCSO first, to get a "taste" of police work without committing yourself to the full six months training & two years as a probationer - also, PCSOs are far more likely to be accepted as "real" officers should they apply. — iridescent 18:29, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, being a PCSO first helps you get your foot in the door so to speak! I am currently still a Police Constable, I don't really want the role of a sergeant at the moment. Its okay, I like people taking an interest in what I do, its better then people saying "oh your a cop, hide the drugs". Leave work at work and home at home :) Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) 19:17, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
SAS
Hi there. The reason I deleted the information you added to the SAS page is that is appears to be unsourced something that was made up one day. You have listed it as "Foundations thought up in 1941" which seems to imply it has no standing and someone just made it up. As a result it didn't appear to have any real relevance or connection to anything, just some random thoughts. Unfortunately due to the nature of the edit it is likely it will be removed by someone else unless you can provide some basis of reference for it. Ben W Bell talk 18:15, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- You have to understand this from the point of view of other readers and editors, to them it just looks like a random set of lines. Provide a reference for it and some context and it may be a different matter, but as it stand it appears like something someone thought up one day and just added to the article. Remember the tenant of Misplaced Pages, verifiability. Reference it and most importantly provide some more context for the lines in the article instead of just having four thoughts sitting there in the article. Ben W Bell talk 18:19, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- That's alright, I don't like rude people either. No need for it. Good luck and good editing. Ben W Bell talk 21:06, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
SAS Philosophy warring
Hi,
I have noticed the content dispute about the 'philosophy of the SAS' part of the Special Air Service article over the last day or so. Another user has reverted it to the last revision before either version was there, and I have started a discussion about it on the talk page (Talk:Special Air Service#SAS Philosophy warring. It would be good if the matter could be sorted out there before it is added back to the main article.
Thanks, and happy editing. Blair - Speak to me 10:45, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Invitation
Greetings from Canada, Happy New Years and thanks for the invite to your wikiproject "Life on Mars." I have to admit that I have never seen an episode of the show and have only read about it. It sounds like a show that I can really get into. I have a strong interest in films and TV sitcoms that revolve around the idea of time travel. I wish I could help but since I've never seen an episode I don't think I can be of much help for now. Maybe in the future after watching a few of the episodes. Canvassing warning
Your contributions history shows that you have been aggressively cross-posting. Although the Arbitration Committee has ruled that "The occasional light use of cross-posting to talk pages is part of Misplaced Pages's common practice.", such cross-posting should adhere to specific guidelines. In the past, aggressively worded cross-posting has contributed towards an Arbitration Committee ruling of disruptive behavior that has resulted in blocks being issued. It is best not to game the system, and instead respect Misplaced Pages's principle of consensus-building, by ceasing to further crosspost, and instead allowing the process to reflect the opinions of editors that were already actively involved in the matter at hand. --McGeddon (talk) 20:55, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you want to drum up members for a project, you should do so on the talk page of the related article, rather than through privately messaging the hundred or so editors who have ever edited a Life on Mars article (I'm guessing that's where you picked the hundred users from; I have certainly copyedited the article in the past, but am not a particular fan of the show). Anyone who really cares about the series is likely to have the main article and its talk page on their watchlist. --McGeddon (talk) 21:20, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, my original warning was a pre-written Misplaced Pages warning template which may not have been entirely appropriate, but spamming the same message to a hundred users (many of whom are presumably at my level or less of Life On Mars interest) certainly goes beyond "occasional light use of cross-posting to talk pages". Please think before posting identical messages in this volume in the future; it's usually more appropriate to post to a talk page of a related article, such as Talk:Life on Mars (TV series). --McGeddon (talk) 21:34, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Only a casual interest in the series mainly because a friend provided most of the radio equipment used in the first series and all used in the second series. --jmb (talk) 22:15, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Life_On_Mars,_promotional_books_and_DVD's.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:Life_On_Mars,_promotional_books_and_DVD's.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. Gwinva (talk) 21:44, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
LOM invite
Thanks. I like the series but I have only a small interest in it. My edits there were disambiguation and format ones. I can't say anything more than I'm involved in another encylopaedia project where I'm paid for my contribution, so as you can imagine, my involvement in wikipedia from now on will not be a priority one, and as such I can't really devote my time here. MegX (talk) 01:56, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeh we should get to work on that actually I'll start whenever your ready - J.Naven 18:14, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Tone tag
Please don't just delete cleanup tags from articles, without commenting, as you did on Phyllis Dobbs - they're usually put there because editors are pointing out areas that others should be focusing their attention on, to help produce better articles. Phrases like "If you're rude to her sexually you'll get a clip around the ear" are of an inappropriate tone for an encyclopaedia. Take a look at WP:TONE for an explanation of the tone of voice that Misplaced Pages articles should take. That whole "Writing better articles" policy is worth reading if you've got the time. --McGeddon (talk) 18:33, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Please try to be WP:CIVIL to other editors - Misplaced Pages's built on that, and personal attacks just sour the environment and deter contributions. I'm trying to help improve the articles you're working on - if we're at cross purposes on the tone of an article or the relevance of a tag, I apologise, but it's more useful to tell me that or discuss it on a talk page somewhere, than to just tell me to get lost. I hope we can work together. --McGeddon (talk) 18:58, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

- Is it ok with you if I restore the comments? At the very least, it might prevent anyone asking the same question. --Kife 16:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Re: "Please do gather evidence and make sure your conclusion is "Solid" so no one can pick holes in it." What conclusion?? I just asked a darn question!
- Jeepers! I asked a question ("very very silly sentance" as you put it - learn to spell, by the way) and you respond by belittling me?? If you check my user page history, you'll see that I had added a userbox to support the LOM project, but given your obnoxious reply, I have removed it. Do not belittle people's questions, and do not vandalize the WikiProject LOM talk page by removing my question from it. Maybe you started that WikiProject, but once it begins, you do not own it. RE Specialist Firearms Officer
It was done to correct the grammar, those fis better than them. And just because you start a page doesnt mean you own it. And no incorrect information was added to the page, so i fail to see your point Pat (talk) 16:30, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Just doing my bit for Misplaced Pages. Note that if you want to see what changes other editors have made to an article, you can click the "history" tab and select any two versions to "Compare selected versions" of - the changes will be highlighted in red. --McGeddon (talk) 17:58, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Stopping it
Hello again. If an editor seems to be adding good information to Misplaced Pages but in a style that needs tidying up to meet WP:MOS, then I usually check their other edits to see if there's anything else that I can help clear up. If I've "messed up" any of your text by adding factual inaccuracies then please do correct that, but I thought I'd been careful to only correct grammar, spelling and formatting issues, in areas where I'm unfamiliar with the subject. Put me right if I've done any damage. --McGeddon (talk) 15:31, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Life on Mars
So are you saying this should not be a member of Category:WikiProject Life on Mars? Sorry, I'm afraid I don't understand your objection... I'm just doing a little cleaning up. -- Prove It 18:48, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Vandalism warnings
Thanks for trying to help reduce vandalism on Misplaced Pages, but please follow the 1-4 scale of vandalism warnings given on WP:TT, rather than jumping straight to the level 4 "assumes bad faith; strong cease and desist, last warning". You should try to assume good faith for something as simple as a corrected typo on your user page. --McGeddon (talk) 12:27, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, editing someone else's user page is inappropriate, even for a small typo, but this doesn't merit a harsh "assume bad faith, last warning" to an innocent new user who might not know any better. Please read WP:TT before issuing further vandalism warnings - in most cases you should start with a level one vandalism warning and work upwards. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 17:01, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
A good Wikipedian is supposed to take a deep breath and think "assume good faith". If it's possible that an edit was made by someone trying to be helpful, our first response should be one of polite reproach, rather than treating them as a full-on malicious vandal and possibly scaring them away. Even though this means being initially, teeth-grittingly polite to a lot of genuine vandals, it's worth it for the one in a hundred who apologises and sticks around to help out.
The "compare selected versions" button in the history page will let you compare edits to find exactly what an editor added or removed to a page, if you haven't explored that functionality yet. User:QYV only corrected a single-letter typo in your userpage. --McGeddon (talk) 17:14, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, but a level four final bad-faith warning is not appropriate for a user who has only been around a week, and has received no previous warnings. You were absolutely right to point out QYV's misunderstanding, but should have used a much lower warning level. Don't bite the newbies; "nothing scares potentially valuable contributors away faster than hostility". --McGeddon (talk) 17:23, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- While the above is true, the user also reverted your edits, calling it vandalism, and he did continue to edit your userpage after you asked him not to. He was given a final warning by you, and continued to edit, so I have blocked him for 24 hours, and am about to leave him a message explainin things to him (or her). However, Police,Mad,Jack, I would suggest you be slightly more civil to McGeddon up there, even if you have had a brush with him in the past, we should all try to remain friends, that's fair enough isn't it? :) SGGH 20:24, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- That was a different user, from an anonymous IP address; User:QYV did nothing more than correct a single one-letter typo on Jack's user page, which Jack issued a level-four bad-faith warning for. --McGeddon (talk) 16:48, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Misplaced Pages, as you did to User:Wryspy, you will be blocked from editing. I would have only used a level 1 warning except that this discussion makes it abundantly clear that you know better. It is truly ironic that after you gave someone a vandalism warning for tampering with a user page, you reverted my own edit to my own user page. Wryspy (talk) 04:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Please Note: I am not a vandal. My account was compromised, this is not my doing. Sorry. Jack.

Vandals
Don't let them get you down. It's much easier to revert vandalism than to create it - I just end up feeling sorry for the time that they're wasting. --McGeddon (talk) 22:17, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Can I ask why you're adding extra full stops to articles (and usually removing them a few minutes later), by the way? --McGeddon (talk) 16:03, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough, but making unnecessary edits to articles isn't ever a helpful thing to do, and you left one test edit there for at least a quarter of an hour. Don't be cryptic - if there's a good reason that you're doing it (are you trying to clear your cache?), maybe I can help you find a better way to achieve it.
And I'm sure you're right about the firearms unit merge. Would be better to put your argument on Talk:Firearms unit than in my talk page, though, so that others can read it. --McGeddon (talk) 17:12, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Were they call made after the forward started? If you send me a link to the one which is now a redirect, I'll take a look. If you wrote a substantial bit then it can count, that fair? SGGH 21:02, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- To be honest you habe written a law enforcement article at whislte, even if it was subsequently merged, go for it! SGGH 22:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- No worries, I have edited your CAIT article a little bit, as every force as far as I know has a CAIT, Avon and Somerset Constabulary certainly does. Also sorry for above typos, I'm not using my regular keyboard and this one is rubbish. SGGH 22:20, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Your edits
Hello again. I just had the firearms unit article on my watchlist - Misplaced Pages lets editors keep track of articles they're interested in by clicking the "watch" tab, and gives them a "watchlist" of recent edits to all those articles. I tend to watch any that need further work, and just noticed you adding a full stop, which you'd done before. The watchlists are explained here - they're definitely worth using, if you haven't tried them.
The police whistle article was a one-paragraph stub, and closely matched the existing "police whistle" section of the whistle article - it seemed a pretty uncontroversial merge, given that the article was a stub that hadn't been touched for a couple of months. You're perfectly free to undo it if you disagree with my reasoning, of course. --McGeddon (talk) 17:33, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

"Stalking"
Oh, hello again. I'm just an editor who has a passing interest in improving some of the same articles as you, and sometimes I might change a sentence you've written, in the course of my edits. This is how Misplaced Pages is supposed to work, and isn't "stalking"; editors don't "own" their edits, and shouldn't feel possessive when someone else alters or replaces them. As it says at the bottom of every edit window, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it." Take a look at WP:OWN if you haven't already, and try to assume good faith from fellow editors. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 18:49, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I've got some police-related articles on my watchlist, and I occasionally tidy up grammar and style if I notice the need for it. If you're responsible for making edits which require a bit of tidying up, then that will show up on my watchlist, and I might notice and correct them. This isn't "stalking", this is how watchlists work. --McGeddon (talk) 19:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
But I am "monitoring what you do". I've got a watchlist that includes several articles you edit, so I can see when an edit's been made; it's nothing personal, though. If we're both in the UK, then we're probably online at similar times of day. (If you're not familiar with the idea of Misplaced Pages watchlists, they're explained here.) --McGeddon (talk) 19:24, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
No offence intended, you just seemed suspicious that I could see your edits and correct errors within a few hours. You sounded like someone who didn't know about watchlists. --McGeddon (talk) 20:29, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
RE: Status Bar
Yeah sure. See this page for information on how to do it. And newsletter is being made. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 19:50, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Right, this is how to do it.
- Add this code to your monobook file, if you use the Monobook skin (check in your preferences at the top):
importScript('User:Voice_of_All/Addtabs/monobook.js'); importScript('User:Misza13/statusChanger.js');
- Create User:Police,Mad,Jack/Status with this code:
{{User:Police,Mad,Jack/StatusTemplate|}}
- Create User:Police,Mad,Jack/StatusTemplate with this code (edit as you wish)
'''<div style="border: 1px solid black; background: white; float: right; position: relative; top: -30px; padding: 5px"> Example's status: {{ #switch: {{{1}}} | in=<span style="color: green;">IN</span> | busy=<span style="color: #FFAA00;">BUSY</span> | out=<span style="color: red;">OUT</span> }} </div>'''
- Add this code anywhere on your userpage, talkpage, etc.
{{User:Police,Mad,Jack/Status}}
Hope it works. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 20:24, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, forgot to add that you have to change your status with the new buttons at the top (Next to My talk, My preferences, My watchlist etc.) WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 20:34, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Not at all! It is a bit complicated. There are three new links at the top right of the screen (hopefully): In, Busy and Out. Click one to change your status. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 20:38, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I see what's happened: you used the wrong code. Heh, no-one's perfect :P WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 20:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Inappropriate level 4 warnings
I see that your account has issued another level four bad faith warning, after a new user deleted a section of an article without giving an edit summary. This is exactly the sort of situation that Template:Uw-delete1 is designed for - a level four warning is an extremely inappropriate reaction, and I have removed it. If you don't understand how these templates should be used, please take the time to read WP:TT, and feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Improper use of vandalism warnings is vandalism, and seriously deters new users, damaging Misplaced Pages. If you continue to issue inappropriate level four warnings, you will be blocked from Misplaced Pages. --McGeddon (talk) 19:05, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just moved this serious warning to the bottom along with my previous response, as it looked like you hadn't noticed it, and it is a serious issue. Barring further vandalism warnings (which I hope I won't have to make), I shan't post to your talk page again. --McGeddon (talk) 20:40, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Please don't make personal attacks and stay calm in discussions. The best rule of thumb is to comment on content, not contributors. Thanks. --Veritas (talk) 20:19, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Military history WikiProject coordinator elections
The Military history WikiProject coordinator selection process is starting. We are aiming to elect nine coordinators to serve for the next six months; if you are interested in running, please sign up here by February 14! Kyriakos (talk) 20:45, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree
We proberbly should, the Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes Wikiproject, we should come up with a shortened Version like Wikiproject LOM/ATA unless everyone wants to write out to entire name in full - J.Naven 22:29, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Users
Oh yeh new users, really pickin up now, I see you got caught in a edit war- J.Naven 22:34, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Episodes
I see pages for A2A episodes have been created and I was wondering the same should be done for LOM. The problem would be the titles for them, what do you think - J.Naven 22:41, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for my late reply, I ment if we could do articles on each episode of Life on Mars like is being done to A2A - J.Naven 21:59, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
WP template & banners
When adding the WikiProject banner to an article (like you did here), would you mind adding it inside a bannershell (like this) if there is one? Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 14:19, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kewl - no problem :) -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 15:12, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Copyediting
Thanks, it's on my watchlist. --McGeddon (talk) 13:05, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
RE: WP LOM Newsletter
Ok. I'll make a separate bit for users in that cat, thanks. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 20:02, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Not yet
Na got it recorded watchin it in 15 mins - J.Naven 22:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Project invite
Thanks for the invite, but I probably won't be watching much of the rest of the series. --McGeddon (talk) 19:46, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
RE: Zip Zip Zippy Zipgun
I think I got the title right. ;) He was continually adding unreferenced facts, so I reverted them. The facts he added were reverted by others before me though. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 17:54, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have asked him through the talk page to reference his facts. I will search for some if you like. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 17:59, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- The reference in the show was not to the A-Team programme - the term was coined long before that. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:07, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- He seems to think it was a reference to the TV show you gave me a link to, which started in 1983, but the series couldn't have used that as it is set in the 1970s. It is also irrelevant trivia we don't need anyway. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:10, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed ;) WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:14, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- If you like. I have filed an AIV report on him. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:25, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry. I'll link it: WP:AIV is where you put reports of vandals for admins to deal with. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:27, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Cheers mate. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:31, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Quite. Now we wait. Even if it wasn't vandalism it is still a personal attack in the edit summary. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 18:34, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Me too
Me as well and I've got a test first lesson, nice way to welcome u back - J.Naven 20:02, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Appreciate the tips. Thank you! --Mazestephan (talk) 02:20, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
RE: Back to school
Haha! We're off today and tomorrow...not doing anything like WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 16:56, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Huh? What's that? WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 17:18, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Lucky! Oh well, good luck with that. You might want to archive your talkpage - almost 100 sections now! WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 17:41, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry about the lateness. Read this for instructions. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN 20:20, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Milhist coordinators election has started
- The February 2008 Military history WikiProject coordinator election has begun. We will be selecting nine coordinators to serve for the next six months from a pool of fifteen candidates. Please vote here by February 28. --ROGER DAVIES 21:26, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
your sig
you should not have images in your sig. β 17:15, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Betacommand, read WP:SIG please and consider removing the images from it. Thank you. — Save_Us † 17:19, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Yup, have to remove the images - no images, no templates, etc. Avruch 17:20, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Again, to see why, read WP:SIG, and to reply to you, no, everyone doesn't use them, you may be refering to unicode characters like the smiley in your sig, read this from WP:SIG:
Images of any kind may not be used in signatures for the following reasons:
- they are an unnecessary drain on server resources, and could cause server slowdown
- a new image can be uploaded in place of the one you chose, making your signature a target for possible vandalism and Denial-of-service attacks
- they make pages more difficult to read and scan
- they make it more difficult to copy text from a page
- they are potentially distracting from the actual message
- in most browsers images do not scale with the text, making lines with images higher than those without
- they clutter up the "file links" list on the image page every time you sign on a different talk page
- images in signatures give undue prominence to a given user's contribution
As an alternative to using images, consider using unicode characters that are symbols, such as these: ☺☻♥♪♫♣♠♂♀§. For a full listing of Unicode characters see Wikibooks:Unicode/Character reference.

- I saw your replies to these requests. You need to remove the image because it is disruptive (it is visually distracting and it breaks posts you sign in up with odd spacing. John Reaves 17:25, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- If you're not willing to remove it, you need to at least reduce its size to coincide with the rest of your sig. John Reaves 17:27, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd guess removing the font size tags would do it. John Reaves 17:29, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Your old sig had <font size="6">☺</font> , just use "☺". John Reaves 17:33, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Alternatively you can alter the number inside like this:
- <font size="1">☺</font>
- <font size="2">☺</font>
- <font size="3">☺</font>
- And etc. — Save_Us † 17:35, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Signbot only recognized ~~~~. Were you just copying and pasting the code? John Reaves 17:38, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, the helmet is an image, not a unicode character like the face. You can't have that in your sig. John Reaves 17:39, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

- Only kids with idiotic images in their signatures. John Reaves 18:30, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- Any image in a sig is, we're here for an encyclopedia, not a "who can have the cutest signature" contest. John Reaves 18:33, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:36, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Go away Sinebot you bloody idiot I was signing my posts but you still put I wasnt.
- Are you signing with ~~~~?
