Manuel Neuer (born 27 March 1986 in Gelsenkirchen) is a German footballer and the current goalkeeper of the football club FC Schalke 04. He is considered one of the most talented young German keepers. Along with Rene Adler. He won the starting position from an experienced keeper Frank Rost midway through the first half of the 2006-2007 Bundesliga season. Neuer was recently called up by Joachim Löw to participate in a fitness test.
